All-American voters like gaudy numbers. Jose probably wants to ensure the voters notice Courtney.

I think she's prolific! And if Morgan's in the draft this year - I think Courtney goes ahead of her. Even without her knee- Courtney is something - don't you think so?
Her step back jump shots are unstoppable and accurate- even doubled and tripled-

Boy Jose really wanted Williams to score a bunch of points. She was taking 3 pointers with 10 seconds left? Poor form Jose.

I'm very glad UCONN held her to 6 points for the entire 2nd half. Given she took 22 shots over all to get 21 points, I'd say we did a great job of stopping her in the 2nd half. Now if we could put 2 halves like that together against USF LOL...

At What point in the 4th qtr was Courtney supposed to not shoot or score? I'm not sure I understand that dig at both her and Jose? We try to score late in the game?

We play our starters well into the fourth qtr when we are up 50 pts. And you're going batty over C Williams and Jose for her trying to score late??? Were they supposed ego quit and go home after the 3rd period?

Not quite. I think that was a bit premature.

I'm not sure if your post was meant as a response to my post or rather just a statement of how you feel about C. WIlliams.
She certainly looked unstoppable at times, at least when her shots went in.

USF was also without their second best scoring option. If we have a rematch next Monday and Laksa is available that might keep things a little closer than tonight. And of course there's a chance we get to play them a fourth time in the NCAA tournament.

I think she had an ankle or some kind of leg injury. USF has had some injuries lately. Laksa has had some 30 point games this season, so not having her last night put them at a disadvantage, though if we play the whole game like we did the 3rd quarter it won't matter.

Poor officiating early in the game.Two bogus calls on Lou, one bad one against Moriah. With 3 fouls, Mo couldn't be Mo, so her play in the first half was somewhat tentative. A different story in the 3rd Quarter. And Lou sat a lot of the Q2, but now she's relaxed and playing very well.

I seriously doubt the refs are fixing the matches. It's WCBB, not boxing.

The refs called a few ticky tack fouls on both teams but overall they were OK. The Huskies were slow and got caught out of position too many times in the first half and resorted to reaching in instead of playing from a good defensive position. Refs were not a factor.

My take the evening - obviously Courtney Williams is a shooting machine but even the best of them run out of steam eventually, especially when you're being dogged the way she was and you have to play those kind of minutes. For all intents and purposes the starting 5 for USF played the entire game (one small exception) and it showed in how the shooting percentages went way down as the game progressed and how USF had to slow the game down and spent time dribbling and not really running any sort of plays. If they have to do this through the conference tournament you'll see if show up on Monday night.
