9.5 point underdog? Thoughts on this? Seems a bit high for me.

I thought it would be around eight or nine - it’s to the high side of the range I would have expected, but not drastically so.

Seems high given the likely score ranges and the history of the series.

We lost by 9 last year and that was possibly the worst UConn team since the 80s. That’s about as big a beat down as I can imagine Cuse putting on us.

Cuse is returning a team that went to the elite 8 sweet 16 and we have a new basketball coach 9.5 makes sense

Against a bigger team playing a zone, it all comes down to whether we can run and how well we shoot it. Have a bad shooting night and it could be well into the double digits. If we shoot well, it could be an exciting night.

They're also missing their point guard and their star freshman guard recruit is not fully healthy. Should be a great opportunity for UConn to grab a nice early win unless Jim unleashes Buddy on us and he becomes TL2.

It's gonna come down to how much better our guards play against their guards and how much better their bigs play against our bigs. The 3 point line will be big if our back-court and their front-court are trading buckets.

I mean we’re really going to see if we can kid ourselves about playing without much of a front court. We all need a shot in the arm from this game and i hope we get it.

About right I’d say. An ACC team who went to the Sweet 16 while returning impact players vs an AAC team who hasn’t been over .500 in 2 years?

Also a nice opportunity for the Huskies to see a little bit more of who they are. Not a good matchup but never know.

I never bet on UConn games, or on sports for that matter. That said, I put a big (for me) wager on UConn +9.5 the others night while wandering, drunk through a casino. Go Huskies!!!

I have implemented that rule of no betting on UConn men/women since I lost a significant $amount in Vegas one time betting the UConn women to cover a 19 point spread - thought it would be easy money. Lesson learned.

Let's go Huskies !

Honestly, I am very happy to be only a 9 point underdog to the #15 team in the country, but the game is on our home court, so that’s good for at least 5 points.

This is very enticing due to Syracuse's backcourt not being at 100%. Still not going to touch it though.

Apropos of nothing, you sound like a great time and I would love to grab a drink if we’re ever at a UConn game together.

With respect to tonight, I have a good feeling about it which usually means they score 13 points in the first half and lose by double digits.

There really hasn't been much line movement with it. Seem's the line is fair. Wonder what the moneyline is at right now.

The fact CAHUSKY is at the casino wagering while hammered is excellent and your early departure from MSG makes me want to grab a drink or 2 with either of you.

And isn't it difficult to admit that you feel good about this game? I mean on the BY, I have trouble with that but have that same feeling swirling around. Again though, we won't make a shot and Buddy B will make everything he looks at now!

At the risk of pissing off the college basketball gods, and a few of the more superstitious of you on this board -

...although our decided disadvantage in the front court could pose a bigger problem than I am thinking, and maybe Brissett or Battle or worse yet Buddy Boy goes wild from the 3-point line...

I feel strongly that our decided advantage in the back court (particularly with Frank Howard being at least less than 100% if he plays due to his ankle injury) AND in coaching (I have never thought highly of Jim Boeheim's in-game coaching, and had many a Syracuse fan echo that sentiment to me when I used to go to the Big East tournament) gives us a legit shot to win this game.

If I had the spare money to bet on this game (which I do not at this time) I would be a heavy lean towards us. I believe that 9 - 9 1/2 is a very generous line that the sharps who know these teams right now will snap up on UConn as we get towards game time.

Even if their front court advantage combined with Brissett and/or Battle combined with their length in their zone prove to be too much for us, our 3-point shooting has improved enough that we could easily backdoor cover this one.

Just my thoughts as a person who has gambled in the past and bet against us more than once last year, as much as I hated doing it.

It sounds so lame when you say this. The crowd is going to be 50/50 and we all know that. Cuse fans laugh at us on their board when we claim MSG over them
