At the risk of pissing off the college basketball gods, and a few of the more superstitious of you on this board -
...although our decided disadvantage in the front court could pose a bigger problem than I am thinking, and maybe Brissett or Battle or worse yet Buddy Boy goes wild from the 3-point line...
I feel strongly that our decided advantage in the back court (particularly with Frank Howard being at least less than 100% if he plays due to his ankle injury) AND in coaching (I have never thought highly of Jim Boeheim's in-game coaching, and had many a Syracuse fan echo that sentiment to me when I used to go to the Big East tournament) gives us a legit shot to win this game.
If I had the spare money to bet on this game (which I do not at this time) I would be a heavy lean towards us. I believe that 9 - 9 1/2 is a very generous line that the sharps who know these teams right now will snap up on UConn as we get towards game time.
Even if their front court advantage combined with Brissett and/or Battle combined with their length in their zone prove to be too much for us, our 3-point shooting has improved enough that we could easily backdoor cover this one.
Just my thoughts as a person who has gambled in the past and bet against us more than once last year, as much as I hated doing it.
