- UConn vs. DePaul Game Thread -

Wonder how many minutes the bench will play tonight with DePaul's Helter-Skelter style of play. Is any lead safe with the freshmen playing significant minutes as a group and all starters on the bnech? Hopefully more then Megan will get to play, but I see Geno leaving two or three starters (including Azura') on the floor until 2 or 3 minutes left in the game. That presumes UConn is able to get out to a 20+ point lead.

That doesn't explain why her shot is so off mechanically and she's missing gimmes she buried last year.
I gotta go back to last year's game and see her shot. It looks weird this year. I know she spent the summer working with a trainer, but who knows what that means.

That first quarter was some really crisp offense for UConn. Just slicing up the defense. More like I'd expect from the Huskies. Some of the earlier games most of their points were coming in transition, half court didn't look very smooth.

Hoping to have a lot of inside FG attempts to maximize free throws tonight - slows the game down and gives them some breathers , plus fouls on them will add up :)

I got a chuckle out of Bob Joyce and his version of Illinois Geography. Normal, Illinois is dab smack in the middle of the state, not in the far Southern part.
If Westchester can be considered "upstate" ...

Gabby needs to work in a ball fake or two and attack the basket when she's that close, she can still be aggressive when her shot isn't falling

Less crisp lately. Prob good to have that timeout.

Also walker not having a great game. Couple of turnovers.

How many first half timeouts does each team have, by rule?

Walker not ready for this type of game. Gonna be a 6-man rotation unless they break it wide open.

It's a different speed for her. It's a trial by fire all UConn freshmen go through as long as the Huskies continue to play DePaul

I like the look of the UConn offense tonight! A few turnovers, but mostly some pretty smart passing. Spacing is very good, movement without the ball is also strong...

But she's at the high post dealing out the assists. She just needs a coupe of drives to the hoop and she'll be fine.

I like her there but she needs to attack a bit more not just pass - passing is good but two one dribbles and with her explosiveness she's shooting layups or close leaners

Old coaching maxim - UConn needs to play fast but not rush.

Sometiomes they're rushing to make plays
