-> Coach Jim Mora didn’t have an update on Evers immediately after the game, but with a second head injury in five weeks he will likely miss some time. Cam Chadwick, a defensive back, also suffered a head injury on Saturday.

“We have to be careful,” Mora said of Evers’ tendency to run. “Sometimes a quarterback like that that has some speed, they rely on their speed too much and try to escape the pocket out and around rather than up and out. We’ll work on that and get him more comfortable and more confident.” <-

I went looking last night - couldn’t even find post-game quotes on the Bull site.

-> Head coach Jim Mora referred to Brock’s 3-3-5 scheme as “unorthodox” on Saturday. He noted before the year that it could confuse offenses who don’t see it often, that opponents wouldn’t know who was coming – or where they would be coming from – to get to the quarterback.

“They’re starting to understand the nuances of it. It can be complex, it looks complex to an opponent, but our coaches have done a really good job of teaching it and more than anything our players are just embracing it,” Mora said. <-

->Linebackers Tui Faumuina-Brown and Langston Hardy – who combined to create a pick-six in Week Three at Duke – continued to prove the strength of their tag team as they twisted past the Buffalo line and combined for three sacks of quarterback CJ Ogbonna. Defensive linemen Jelani Stafford, Dal’Mont Gourdine and Jack Barton had a field day with the Bulls as they contributed to UConn’s six tackles for loss, eight pass breakups and eight quarterback hurries.

“All the guys who rotate in (at linebacker), everybody who’s in there, we all have the same mindset. All 11 to the ball, and we want to have knock-back tackles, that was a big thing for this week,” Hardy said after the game. “Jayden (McDonald), he’s flying around out there, Tui, Julien (Simon), Amir (Renwick), all of them, Donovan (Branch), really just that’s our motto as a linebacking corps and we wanted to get after them today.” <-

-> UConn football’s new defensive coordinator said before the year that his scheme relies on aggression and intensity, and it was clear during the Huskies’ 47-3 win over Buffalo Saturday that the unit is a reflection of its coordinator.

Constantly on his toes, Brock led the celebration after the Huskies’ stuffed a run on fourth-and-inches in the first quarter and continued pumping his fists as his defense played out almost exactly how he imagined it could before the season began. Showing improvement week-to-week, UConn overwhelmed Buffalo at the line of scrimmage and held the Bulls under 200 yards (198) without allowing a touchdown. <-
