Scoreless bottom of the 8th for Erik Stock, no sign of Reggie Crawford coming to the mound. 14-2 with UConn getting their last at bats today unless a miracle happens.

Will be interesting to see how Crawford does in the bottom of the 9th. Hopefully he can protect this lead we're about to get him!

That's it. There's always tomorrow for the rubber game of the series.

Damn. 2-4 wouldn't be terrible at all, but a 3-3 start out of this gauntlet would be a statement for our NCAA candidacy.

Obviously not a good day for UConn baseball. Still, Penders has some very positive words for Leif Bigelow, saying that he got better as he went along (after he gave up the home run), and that Bigelow was able to eat some innings. All in all, Penders is hoping that Bigelow can take the positives from this appearance and hopefully build off that.

As for myself, Penders did not say it, but UConn is lucky it was able to get one win this weekend considering the starters have combined to go 3.2 innings over a two game period, not to mention the runs Simeone and Dunlop gave up in their starts. That is a lot of work for the bullpen to soak up. UConn definitely needs Krauth to have a solid outing tomorrow. At least 5 good innings would really help.

There have been recent interviews with the coaching staff where they have talked about how much Kyler Fedko has improved as an outfielder, to the extent that he can now play all three outfield positions, and that Kyler is now one of the best defensive outfielders on the team. They have also talked about how Kyler is now one of the fastest UConn players as well. With Kyler getting the center field start yesterday in place of the ill Chris Winkel, it got me to thinking that Kyler in CF could be a precursor to what we see next season after Winkel has graduated.

Top 2nd, Crawford with a leadoff double, his fourth double already on the young season. However, he is stranded there as the following batters go down 1-2-3. No score.

Bottom 2nd, Krauth strands runners on the corners after giving up a leadoff walk and a 2 out error on Brodnansky. No score.

Gozzo rbi double makes it 2-0. Chris Jones thought Fedko was looking a bit gimpy when he scored, so Kyler may be hurt.

Now Gozzo rips an RBI double! 2-0. Fedko was limping back to the dugout apparently.
