Top 5th, leadoff batter Minick gets on base due to an error. Biller draws a walk and Minick moves to 3B on a wild pitch with no outs. A run scores when Padilla hits into a fielders choice ground out for the 1st out, 24-6 UConn.

Root gets a 1 out single, both runners move into scoring position due to an error on the hit. MacArthur hits a 1 out 3 run homer, 27-6 UConn.

Rispoli gets a 2 out single followed by a single by Shpur that puts runners on the corners. Daniels drives in a run with a single that puts runners on the corners. 28-6 UConn.

Not to be negative on this fine offensive showing this afternoon, but UConn came into this game with a team ERA of 5.96, which will likely go up some after today. You have to go back to 2003 to find a higher end of the year ERA (6. 02), which is in danger. However, there was a five year stretch in the late '90's when the team ERA was over six every year. The 13-30 1995 squad turned in a 6.63 team ERA. The other four teams all had winning records, believe it or not, including 25-17 in '98.

Good lord….these may be team slaughter now. I rarely feel sorry for an opponent. I kinda do right now.

Everyone has scored at least two runs, and everyone except Garbowski (2 for 4) has at least one RBI.

For those keeping count, that's now 137 runs (and counting) in the last 9 games (15+ runs per game).

I personally feel bad for this Nova team but as far as our position in realignment I say screw it dominant our conferences foes in all of our sports, it can't hurt. Sorry not sorry.

Maybe we're seeing why Villanova didn't schedule a twin bill today. They didn't want to face these Husky bats twice in one day.

Bottom 5th, after giving up a 2 out walk and a single that puts runners on the corners, a double drives in a run, 28-7 UConn going to the next inning.

Could not agree more.

I can't find most runs in a game and/or most home runs in a game in the UConn Baseball Media guide, but i could have missed them.

Yesterday I bemoaned the high scoring. I was going to do the same a while ago at 12-6, but thought I might have been ridiculed with “OK Boomer.”

23-6?
Okay boomer. But seriously these scores are unreal.

It really feels like a game like this should have a run rule, regardless of the fact that it’s the middle game of the series. Extending this isn’t helping either squad.
