Bottom 6th, with runners at 1st and 2nd and one out, Gallagher is relieved by Randy Polonia. RBI double makes it 4-3.

Polonia follows with a strikeout and a ground out to end the 6th, 4-3 UConn.

Top 7th, scoreless inning for UConn. There have been some long stretches of quiet for the UConn bats today.

Bottom 7th, Polonia with a 1-2-3 inning with 2 strikeouts. 4-3 UConn.

Top 8th, Ferrer with a leadoff walk, Korey Morton pinch runs and steals 2nd, and steals 3rd with 1 out. Nothing comes of it.

The speedy Morton pinch running for the D.H. Ferrer late in games is getting to be a common thing.

Bottom 8th, Justin Willis takes the mound for UConn.

As hot a bat as he's been swinging, Stock joins the list of Huskies who can't hit a friggin ground ball when we're trying to add to a lead with a runner on third and one out. If we don't hold on, that was the moment.

More missed opportunities. Crawford needs to learn how to hit the breaking ball if he wants to play at next level. Hope this doesn't cost them yet again.

Bottom 8th, Willis gets the first out, next batter singles, then Wurster comes in to face a lefty hitter.

.-.
Stolen base and a 1 out walk put 2 runners on. Two strikeouts end the inning with no damage in the run column, 4-3 UConn lead.

It wasn’t easy, but it goes into the proper column!

I think this win clinches a spot for UConn in the Big East tourney. UConn now at 40 in the RPI. No doubt that will bounce around a bit when more results come in today. Winning a series on the road againsta pretty decent Villanova team isn't bad for the RPI at all.

Really tough listen w/ the background music...

Penders is hoping for a rocking full house Elliott Ballpark to close out the regular season.

39 RPI is very hopeful. Winning out this week would be really, really helpful to keep moving up to where an at large bid becomes hard to deny them.
