Padilla starts B4 with a ground out to short. Hit it hard, but right at him. Delena flies out to left. Got underneath a bit. 2 down. Studs walks, coming back from 0-2. Malcom pops one over the deepest part of Elliot and it’s now 3-0 Huskies. Huge hit with 2 outs. Minick grounds out to 3rd. 3-0 UConn.

Coe starts T5 with a K and that’s 3 in a row. Padilla with a nice play, 2 down. Coe gets his 5th K. 1,2,3. UConn leads 3-0. Coe looks sharp.

Schpur grounds out to start B5. Tammaro walks. Season high crowd of 1,081. Beautiful day for it. Luke walks, coming back from 0-2. Runners on 1st and second. Morton stings one right at the left fielder. 2 down. Pick throw to 1st goes up the right field line and Tammaro scores. Padilla flies out to right. Luke stranded on base. 4-0 UConn.

2 quick outs and then Nova with a 2 out single. Another single puts runners on 1st and 2nd. Coe gets a pop out to short to end the inning. 4-0 U of C.

Jack Sullivan was warming up in the 6th inning.

Delena with a lead off walk. Nova changes pitchers. Studs facing a new pitcher. Studs jams one into right, runners on 1st and 2nd, nobody out. Malcom at the plate and he strikes out. Minick singles to left, Delena runs thru a late stop sign and scores to make it 5-0. Still runners at 1st and 2nd. Shpur walks and the bases are loaded with Huskies. Tammaro up. He hits a 2 run single and it’s now 7-0. Still only one out, 2 on and Luke at the plate. Double steal and now we have 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Luke walks to load them up. Morton is the 8th hitter of the inning. he taps one to third and it’s bobbled. 8-0 UConn. Bases still jammed. Padilla with a Sac fly to make it 9-0 but a base running gaffe by Morton results in the 3rd out.

Coe back out to pitch the 7th. He has been very efficient today, with a little early help from his friends. He gets his 6th K on only 80 pitches today. Nova gets a single followed by a fly out to right and a grounder to short for the force to end T7. 9-0 in favor of the boys from Storrs.

Delana leading off the 7th. He flies out to center. Sullivan and Cinnella warming in the pen. Studs with another chance and he smacks a double down the left field line. It’s another another Malcom Mash!

Coe back to start the 8th. He has been very good today. Hit batter and then another great fielding play by Bri! Lost in this offensive output may be the great defensive effort behind Coe today. Nova with runners on the corners after an error by Coe. Delena squeezes a foul pop and there are 2 down, runners on the corners. Guess I spoke too soon. A Luke error gives Nova a run but a fly out ends the inning. 11-1 UConn.

Tammaro pops out to second to start B8. Broadhurst walks for the 4th time today. Kron bats for Morton and pops out to 2nd. Bri at the plate. Passed ball moves Luke to 2nd. Bri flies out to center and the score remains 11-1.

Coe is back out to start the 9th! One pitch and a fly to center for the 1st out. 2nd batter hits one of of the 1st base bag for a double. Another fly ball put away by Studs and there are 2 outs. A fly out to center ends a masterpiece by Coe. His second complete game of the season. Final UConn 11-1. UConn is now 24-18 on the year.
