Bottom 5th, a 1 out double by Hyde. UConn offense leaves 2 runners on base. 8-0 UConn.

Bottom 6th, UConn offense has a scoreless inning after a 2 out single. 8-0 UConn.

Bottom 7th, UConn offense has a scoreless inning after a 2 out walk. 8-0 UConn.

.-.
Bottom 8th, UConn offense goes down in order. 8-0 UConn.

Hector Alejandro comes in to pitch the top of the 9th.

Top 9th, first 2 batters get on base with singles. The next batter has a infield single, and after a throwing error by Broadhurst a run scores and 2 runners move to scoring position. 8-1 UConn.

Alejandro strikes out the next 2 batters, and then walks the next batter to load the bases. Alejandro comes out of the game, Carrea takes the mound.

A single drives in a run, 8-2 UConn. Carrea strikes out the next batter to end the game, UConn wins 8-2.

Are the bats finding it or is simply the quality of pitching has drastically dropped off and now the lineup is “clicking”? As a fan, they found it.

I’m rooting for TC. There’s still enough of a season left for him to make an impact in determining their ceiling.

Well, let’s be honest. They did hold us to no runs and 3 hits after the third inning. Schwede dominated for 5 innings.

No way to tell. Let’s see who is still putting up numbers when we play Creighton, N’eastern and Cincy.

3 hits in the last 5 innings. Our bats have shown spurtability, but not sustainability.

I understand the point ur making and those teams are a better indicator to go off. Im looking at it from an ncaa perspective and the arms they’ll encounter regardless of regions. If you move on ur gonna face some elite arms.

I think it’s fair to say that the lineup today is far different from the spring break lineup, regardless of pitching. Shpur, Dalena, Minick’s frosh struggles, Daniel’s playing hurt and ur tentative 3 hitter struggling. Combined, that’s a lot of improvement and figuring out of ur team that’s happened. I think the quality of pitching overall has probably dropped off, but I think the results would be far better if that trip were this week. Is the lineup legit though, come June…like Cooke is to the staff, Studley getting going is so important to that lineup.

Nice shout-out for Ryan Hyde.

Nice shout for Ryan Hyde indeed, also it would seem that it is possible from what Coach Penders says that it is possible that Ian Cooke may be available to pitch this weekend, but we'll see what happens with that.
