3-0 UConn already! Offense continues to do what they are supposed to do vs this kind of pitching.

I know Pepperdine is bad, but Nova effortlessly sweeping them on the road is truly an astonishing result.

UConn up 4-0 and pitching change coming for Nova after starter takes a comebacker off knee (He looked okay).

Ian Cooke’s day is done and Nova immediately greets Joe Cinnela w/ a lead-off home run. Next batter doubles and Jack Sullivan heads in from bullpen.

Sullivan gives up RBI single and then gets a double play to end the Villanova threat.

8-3 UConn heading to B7

Nothing from the UConn bats in the 7th.

Braden Quinn comes in to get some work in for the T8.

Quinn gives up 5 consecutive hits and it’s 8-6 UConn w/ one down and runners on the corners. Brady Aftim makes his way in from bullpen. Two out single ties the game @ 8 heading into the B8.

Fugly inning all around from the bullpen.

The areas of sports that analytics and stats never tell…big leads blown by arguably the best relievers or players on any given team and sport. Baseball especially. It’s hard to explain but it’s more commonplace then anyone would think. Concentration and mental lapse are usually the excuse but there’s more to it. Hope they don’t let this one go, it’ll be damaging to an at-large.
