Top 5th, with 1 out Marshall reaches 1B due to an error. A double play ends the inning with no runs for the UConn offense. Game tied at 2.
 
Offense is getting a number of gifts, but isn't scoring much. Disappointing, but I get the injuries are rough.
 
Bottom 5th, after strikeout for the 1st out and a walk, West comes out of the game. Hale takes the mound.

Hale gets 2 strikeouts to end the inning which is scoreless. Game tied at 2.

Top 6th, after a 2 out infield single by Thomas, the UConn offense has a scoreless inning. Game tied at 2.
 
Top 7th, with 1 out Detwiler pinch hits for Jemison. The UConn offense goes down in order with 2 strikeouts. Game tied at 2.

Hale gets game ball, win or lose. I like the way our pitching is playing out..

Offense strikes out way too many times. It's not like Air Force, Arizona, or UNC Wilmington have had great arms, either.
 
Top 9th, leadoff batter Polemeni draws a walk. Righi pinch hits for Thomas but strikes out for the 1st out. Polemeni steals 2B. Wachter follows with a 1 out single driving in a run, 3-2 UConn.

With 1 out Taylor gets hit by a pitch. Detwiler follows with a walk to load the bases. A 1 out wild pitch brings in a run and moves up the other runners to the next base. 4-2 UConn.

Finn is warming up in the bullpen.

Menzel draws a 1 out walk that loads the bases again. Marshall draws a 1 out walk which brings in a run.. 5-2 UConn.

Dalena grounds into a double play that ends the inning. 5-2 UConn.
 
Belisario takes over in CF, Wachter moves to RF. Polemeni comes out of the game. Hale stays on the mound to start the bottom of the 9th.

Hopefully when we get healthy it can be. Im starting to like what I see in Polemini, Wachter and Taylor. Think they could round out the bottom of lineup nicely. Starting pitching does look very promising if they can limit the free passes.
