UConn v. Michigan State @ Fluor Field in Greenville S.C. (Fri. 3/15 @ 5p, Sat. 3/16 Dbl Header @ 1p & 5p and Sun. 3/17 @ 11a)

Nothing much happening in the top of the 1st, other than Prato reaching base on an error. No score, with Jimmy Wang ready to go in the bottom of the 1st.

Sirens happen during play by play, not just during post game interviews.

Bottom 1st, Pat Winkel helps Wang out by throwing out a base stealer for the first out, who had reached on a walk.

Double play helps out Wang in the bottom of the 2nd. Wang faces the minimum three batters for a scoreless inning. Wang at 32 pitches. No score yet.

Funny, after that long doubleheader yesterday, this game definitely has a feel of a slow non eventful Sunday morning.

Top 3rd, UConn gets a run on a 2 out passed ball. Toppa reaches first on the strikeout passed ball. 1-0 UConn.

1st and 3rd, 1 out. Offense is picking up and this is the 3rd time through the order.

Top 5th, bases loaded, 1 out. Gozzo pinch hitting for Pat Winkel. Winkel hasn't looked good against the lefty pitcher.

.-.
Line drive double play ends the inning. 2-0 UConn going to the bottom of the 5th.

MSU got lucky there - they left their pitcher in too long, but a line drive double play ends the inning. Damn.

2-0 going to the bottom of the 5th.

Ugh. Should have been more there. Not as patient today at the plate.

Might have something to do with a Michigan State pitcher throwing strikes, a big change from the first three games.
