Top 5th, Casparius retires the side in order with 2 more strikeouts, he now has 9 strikeouts on the game. 79 pitches for Casparius, hoping he can go a couple more innings.

Bottom 5th, a 2 out Pat Winkel single is followed by an rbi double for Christian Fedko. 5-0 UConn. Ferrer follows with an rbi single to make it 6-0.

Top 6th, after giving up a lead off single, Casparius with a scoreless inning, he strikes out 3 more for 12 on the game. Casparius at 94 pitches.

Garrett Coe was warming up that inning.

Bottom 6th, Korey Morton with a 1 out bunt single for his first career hit as a Husky.

Bottom 6th, Kyler Fedko with a 1 out rbi single to make it 7-0 with runners on the corners. Crawford gets an rbi on a ground out to make it 8-0.

The 10 run lead with after 7 innings mercy rule is in effect for Big East conference games this season, so this one could end early if UConn keeps scoring.

Christian Fedko with an rbi single makes it 9-0 UConn going to the top of the 7th.

Ben’s start today saves the bullpen for tomorrow and Sunday which is big because of the 4 game series

During the game I got a message from a friend who told me he knows someone who went to the game tonight and was able to get into the ballpark even though he is not a donor to UConn baseball. It would seem that the rules have been relaxed in terms of who can attend games, although I'm sure there still must still be some sort of attendance limitation in terms of the number of fans short of a full house.

Penders said in the Dibble interview it’s just under 650 (634) all in.

Cool to see the two Norwalk kids start against each other, and it was even McMahon (Morton) vs. NHS (McCabe). Of course I totally doubt Penders did that on purpose but a nice coincidence nonetheless. McCabe’s been a four year starter for GTown.
