Peters loads the bases with 2 walks sandwiched around a hit by pitch after giving up the homer. A no out double drives in 3 more runs, 13-0 FAU. This is followed by a 2 run homer, 15-0 FAU.

Hutchinson retires the next 3 hitters picking up 2 strikeouts to finally end this brutal inning (of course, both innings so far have been brutal for UConn). 15-0 FAU.
 
Top 3rd, Padilla leads off the inning with a solo homer, 15-1 FAU. At least the UConn offense finally gets on the board, however the next 3 batters go down in order.
 
I can sense dinner calling me at any time during this game (the way this game is going, I would not mind taking a dinner break), but my wife is watching the UConn women's basketball game right now while I give her updates on this baseball game, so that could put a big delay into dinner being ready.

So, what is the worst start to a season that we’ve ever had that resulted in a CWS appearance? Last season comes to mind. I really think we will turn this around. Last season we were 10-16 after a loss to Xavier in early April.

Hopefully they can rally tonight and get a quality start tomorrow.

They have tough out of conference competition the next month so we should learn much about the team. Opponents are USC, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Miami, Campbell, Duke and North Carolina to name some.

Playing catchup now. This has been very discouraging and has also given me hope. Pulling out a game like this could do wonders. Here's hoping.

Another very long game this season for UConn baseball.
