As great as Afthim has been this year, I'd be curious to know what his success rate against the first batter he faces. Seems like he gives up a walk or a hit over 50% of the time, but I could be way off.

I checked Warren Nolan around 1:30pm and then again just now. Our RPI went from 32 mid-game to 39 after the W. I get it but sheesh.

I certainly don't get it. How does your RPI lose 7 points by winning, even if at home and against bad team?

It also depends on the results of other games played by other teams. Your RPI can move up and down even when you are not playing a game.

They play so few home games you can’t cancel an entire weekend series at home. The Big East is terrible…beyond embarrassing I don’t see the harm in playing in playing Maine. Butler I’m not sure is any better.

Fact. The Big East IS terrible, so win the league's automatic NCAA bid or play Russian Roulette. Honestly, does anyone think the sixth, seventh, eighth place SEC/ACC team is worse than any BE team other than UConn? NO. So that's the reality that the tournament committee faces. We MIGHT (probably this year) get an at-large bid, but it's a crapshoot. That's life in Big Least baseball.

Nice to see Dougherty back in the lineup playing RF. At least he is able to play after being injured, UConn has had a number of injuries this season that have limited the number of players available on the bench.

West is an interesting case. He’s hard to hit and gets a lot of strikeouts, but 30 walks and HBP’s in 35 innings of work is not great. He could be excellent next year with better control.
