Bottom 4th, no out singles by Daniels and Minick followed by an RBI single by Biller putting runners on the corners, 10-1 UConn.

With no outs, a throwing error on a pick off attempt moves up both runners, bringing in another run, 11-1 UConn.

Lane follows with a no out RBI double, 12-1 UConn.

In Big East conference series during the regular season, generally the mercy rule only applies on the final day of the series which is the travel day for the road team.
 
It will be interesting to see if Pudvar comes out soon in this game, considering he is likely to be the starting pitcher in the Thursday game against Maine. Chris Jones was talking about this.

I think it's stupid if it's not applied to a Dan Hurley imo at least for the first game but it is what it is let's keep it going.

It's kind of counterintuitive that there is no mercy rule for a game played as part of a double header in BE men's baseball but in the BE women's softball tournament the mercy rule is in place.

The mercy rule does apply to games in the Big East baseball tournament, at least it has in the past.

A double play eliminates Minick as a baserunner. Lane follows with a single and Root is hit by a pitch. MacArthur drives in 2 runs with a double, 17-4 UConn.

Padilla is hit by a pitch. 2 runners are left on base.
