-> The UConn baseball team (13-12) continues its 13-game home stretch with a midweek matchup against the Bryant Bulldogs on Tuesday, April 6 at 3 p.m. at Elliot Ballpark.

The Huskies are currently 7-1 during their lengthy stay at home and are currently riding a four-game win streak. UConn has won nine of its last 11 and are over the .500 mark for the first time this season. This past weekend UConn swept UMass in a three-game series with the Huskies outscoring the Minutemen, 27-6.

In a series that dates back to 2009, the Huskies are 7-4-1 record against the Bulldogs.

Bryant enters Tuesday's tilt with a 10-8-1 record overall and are 8-1 in Northeast Conference play. <-

Chris Jones was speculating over the weekend that this game to be primarily a staff day for UConn pitchers. Only question is who starts it off. Jimmy Wang would be as good a guess as any. Pat Gallagher is most likely going to be a weekend starter in Big East conference games starting with Georgetown next weekend, but I suppose it is possible that he might get an inning or two considering he will not have pitched in a week. UConn used to do this sort of thing with Jeff Kersten when he was on the team.

Assuming no bullpen arm of value will go more than one inning tomorrow, we only need to get three innings out of question marks before we can get 6 out of Haus, Crawford, Morerro, Willis, Polonia and Wurster. Frankly, given that Bryant is probably stronger than Georgetown, I wouldn't be shocked if someone in that group got more than one inning.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team hits the road for a pair of midweek contests against regional rivals, visiting UConn on Tuesday and Rhode Island on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. both days.

• Bryant and UConn will be meeting for the first time this year. They'll meet at Conaty Park on April 11.
• The Huskies own a 7-4-1 lead in the all-time series. UConn won the most recent meeting, 11-6, in 2019.

• Bryant enters the week at 10-8-1 overall, having won eight of its last 10 games.
• The Bulldogs are hitting .289 as a team and have a team ERA of 3.04.
