I dunno guys. How many more scores would this game have produced with better coaching? Maybe 10 points. Giving up 42 seems like a bigger deal (and yes that was due largely to USF having some better players).

Thought the D played well considering. Here's what USF has scored in 7 games this season:

56, 48, 45, 35, 45, 38, 42.

UCF just lost a heartbreaker to Temple.

So there's that next week.

well... they kept it interesting into the 4th quarter.
They caused turnovers on defense.
Sherriffs is a true warrior.
Puyol is solid.
USF just played better.
Next year maybe things go a different way.
UConn is still young yet and won't lose a lot to graduation so watch out in 2017
at 4 losses UConn looks a lot better than some might give them credit for and a bowl invite is definitely a possibility.
The tough part of the schedule is over. Now it's time to rack up some wins.

You need good coaching too I know the refs effed up in that game ok state also shouldn't have allowed a play that works once in a generation or else you wouldn't have to worry about putting the game in the refs hands.

I have no idea what this has to do with USF having better players than UConn - but ok.

BS is NOT a college level QB Zoo...sorry...but he isn't! Dave Doren wanted too make him a fullback at NC St for a reason. He can't take his reads nor can he do his progressions. He has no touch on a dup ball and any pass over 40 yes is awfully under thrown. He isn't a sub 4.4 40 guy nor is he a real elusive runner. There for what does he bring to the table besides toughness and heart? Nothing skill wise that will put his team over the top.

With this system it almost doesn't matter who the QB is.

Sure if you want to paint Diaco and his staff in the most negative light - they only have one better player. USF only had all those sacks because Flowers is good.

They overcame a -4 TO deficit and won by 15. Diaco is that bad - everyone but one player is equal.

Turnovers only matter if you make the other team pay for it.

In one case our interception actually helped them with field position because the offense chooses to be so inept.

You are completely 100% wrong! I'm not saying this system is awesome...BUT the kid isn't a QB. If you can't go through your progressions or make your reads..you are gonna perform like he does. He is NOT a college QB skill wise. Is he tough, yes!!! Does he have heart..most definitely! But D-1 level QB skills...nope no way! You want to see a spread top offense throwing the ball all over the field with this kid running it...you are truly out of your mind. This team would lose by 40+ on a regular basis!

Question is can you take the positives out of this game, build on them and get better every week? That would be a sign of good coaching and a team headed in the right direction.

Maybe we should recruit to run the flexbone bc we havent had a decent D1 quarterback on campus since Dan Orlovsky.

Exactly my point. Right now the offense everyone here wants to run doesn't have a QB good enough to run it.

Well we won the time of possession. Just think they have a better offense than we have defense
Sure, but USF's D must have been so gassed being on the field longer than our O ;)

It's not a dig on the coaching staff to say that one player on the other side dominated the game. Flowers averaged 10 yards per carry and got 3 TDs with his feet. No third-and-long situation was safe, and it kept our D on the field. 3-yard losses turned into 12-yard gains.

Ward did the same thing to us (even worse). In college FB, one player changes the entire complexion of the game...
