The 5-3 spring break, without Daniels, is a job well done. Far, far more important for the season is that somehow, out of nowhere, the pitching staff is solidifying. Even without any of the three opening week starters getting it done.

If Finn can continue to throw strikes, we have quiet the closing rotation of Finn, Shaw, then Afthim. Root continues to hit so well with a chopping swing. Trying to remember who his swing reminds me of (Rose)? If we can get one or two of the three (Cooke, Van Emon, Ellison) to get it going we can be a very dangerous team.

Ben Schild is another arm that I liked last year. I know he was still dealing with some injuries in preseason but us not seeing him to date makes me think he is just gonna take a medical redshirt year.

Conference season really gives team fresh start and a 5-2 spring break trip some momentum.
