-> Projected Starters:

RHP Austin Peterson (2-0, 1.82 ERA) vs. RHP Zach Tonnerre (0-0, 4.82 ERA)

RHP Pat Gallagher (3-1, 1.64 ERA) vs. RHP Noah Conlon (1-3, 6.89 ERA)

RHP Enzo Stefanoni (2-1, 1.48 ERA) vs. RHP Ryan Forcucci (4-3, 3.45 ERA)

Standout performers for UConn:
  • Erik Stock leads the Huskies in average (.417), on-base (.485), and hits (25).
  • Bryan Padilla, who’s worked his way into the starting lineup fairly regularly at shortstop and is batting .323 on the year.
  • Freshman reliever Ian Cooke still has yet to record an earned run through 17.1 innings of work. He’s coming off an impressive 7.2 inning shutout performance against USC, where he struck out 7 and allowed just one walk. <-

Plan on heading out to UCSD on Monday. 1 p.m. PDT 1st pitch.

Wish I could get to the game today to see Peterson on the hill, but family obligations :(. Slight chance I can make the game Sunday. I'll post a follow up when plans are set for a Boneyard meetup :)

PS $6 GA only, plenty of good seats available for all games!

David Smith now at the bottom of the order, and Kevin Ferrer back at the D.H. spot for tonight. I guess I had good timing when I suggested that Smith be moved out of the leadoff spot, but in a way I find it a bit spooky.

Pretty good hockey game going on right now, but you got to do what you got to do.

Top 1st, UConn offense leaves a couple runners on base. No score.

Bottom 1st, Peterson loads up the bases with 1 out (2 singles and a hit by pitch). A run scores on a ground out, runners on the corners. Matt Donlan throws out a stolen base attempt to end the inning. 1-0 Tritons.

Stock has to call off Padilla on that pop up. Won't go down as an error and should be an unearned run.

Ump appears to have a small strike zone. Where have we seen that before. Stock really struggling in Center right now.

Bottom 2nd, Stock misplays a ball in the outfield into a leadoff triple. Sac fly ties the game at 2.

Top 3rd, UConn offense with a scoreless inning. Game tied at 2.

Bottom 3rd, Peterson with a scoreless inning. He has 2 strikeouts on the night so far, and he is at 46 pitches.

Bottom 4th, Peterson faces the minimum with the aid of a double play after hitting another batter. Peterson at 55 pitches. Game tied at 2.

.-.
Top 5th, after the Smith homer, UConn with a 2 out rally attempt, singles by Huber and Dana puts runners on the corners. Pitching change. Passed ball brings in a run to make it 4-2 UConn.
