Some defensive players are going to have to take it upon themselves to deviate from the scheme and light somebody up. They look like they've been coached into passive zones.

So, a couple of days ago, Jacobs had a column in the Courant and he talked about the words of wisdom Bo passed on to Warde in terms of being an AD.

"Trust your eyes" Bo said.

Hopefully Warde wants to gouge his eyes after this performance.

The whole team has been lifeless outside of Davis and the one run by McCombs.

I honestly never thought I'd see some of the worst tendencies from last year resurface at crucial times. That's the most disappointing thing.

And it's happening against TOWSON.

I am looking at where we are, and the coaching is/has been terrible. What are you trying to say? That because this is CT we shouldn't expect our team to improve?

Nice playing dumb there sweet pead.

Not only do I expect this team to improve, I find the current play unacceptable. What are YOU trying to say?

You just posted that you would hold off calling for PP's head if we got rid of DeLeone? You think THAT will solve everything? DeLeone Sucks. Pasqualoni sucks. Both should be gone. Both. Your saying if they get rid of DeLeone you'd keep P? That makes NO sense.

OK I am going rational, fold the program now and sell the new scoreboard to re-tile the ceiling in Gampel so the Big East will take us back. Problem solved.

DTs playing well. LBs are invisible. Is Smallwood plainf tonight? When our DBs have to make all the tackles, we're in for a long night! What's Michigan gonna do to us?

Its just more of the same, clock management awful, O-line awful - couple of times had short yardage and can't get a push. D-line not very impressive. We surely out weigh them on both sides of the ball yet we are not getting any push. Need to get bigger back in there on the short yardage situations. Unfortunately just seeing too much of the same nonsense as last year.

Gotcha, sweet pea are the words I believe you were looking for. I guess I should elaborate for you. I would refrain for a little while on calling for PP's head if they tossed out Deleone. I believe that Deleone is where 90% of our problems are coming from. If it turned out that we still sucked afterward, I would be first in line calling for PP's head. Hope that clears it up for you.

It may only be the first half of the year, but I've seen enough. The whole coaching staff needs to get canned, and the sooner the better. We are about to hit bottom, and it's gonna hurt.

Yeah it clears up your not very smart.

If Pasqualoni kept a guy around that was responsible for 90% of the problems for 3 years, HE is responsible. It would be a dereliction of duty.

And Warde has made it clear that he will not get rid of PP until after the season is over. We had an abysmal offense last year, now we have an abysmal o-line, what is the common thread? Deleone. I'm not a fan of PP, but I'll take what I can get, if it involves getting rid of one of the wonder twins

I'm at a fantasy football draft...whats the score?

The thing I was most discouraged about was the second to last play. Three D-lineman, they may have even been other positions, were rushing Whitmer and easily forced him to have to dump it to McCombs for a yard. If we can't stop 3, FCS level Defensive lineman, how are we going to stop any other team on our schedule....wow....it's been three years and our o-line continues to regress.

Kinda scary you would want to keep a guy who kept a guy around for 3 yrs that was responsible for 90% of the problems.

Wouldn't speak too highly of the head coach to be that stubborn and clueless.

Random question that may have been answered in this thread earlier...why is Keeler not coaching at Delaware? Wasn't he a hot name to get a FBS job a few years back? Maybe even a name for the UConn gig?

The common thread is that our head coach does not know why those units have struggled when EVERYONE can see what the main issue is. If our head coach is that removed from reality & the pulse of this team, why not fire him ASAP? He doesn't know what he's doing.

Edsal left him competent enough pieces -- and weak enough schedules -- to win 7 in 2011 and 9 in 2012. That we could win 5 games last year with FIVE NFL seniors vs. a shit schedule is telling. Hell, we beat the only really good team we played on the road...a competent coach could have molded a 10-3 squad with the talent on that team last year.

First half on Defense showed just how good Sio and Trevardo were. The D will be fine. Whit has to stop giving the ball away. And ESPN3 SUCKS!!!
