Random question that may have been answered in this thread earlier...why is Keeler not coaching at Delaware? Wasn't he a hot name to get a FBS job a few years back? Maybe even a name for the UConn gig?

He struggled last year, and with Delaware's resources, his success wasn't THAT remarkable. With that said, he should have been given another year.

The common thread is that our head coach does not know why those units have struggled when EVERYONE can see what the main issue is. If our head coach is that removed from reality & the pulse of this team, why not fire him ASAP? He doesn't know what he's doing.

Edsal left him competent enough pieces -- and weak enough schedules -- to win 7 in 2011 and 9 in 2012. That we could win 5 games last year with FIVE NFL seniors vs. a schedule is telling. Hell, we beat the only really good team we played on the road...a competent coach could have molded a 10-3 squad with the talent on that team last year.

Who would u name head coach tomorrow? Hughes or Weist?

I completely agree. My only point was that we all know Warde won't get rid of PP during the season. Knowing this, I still think we'd see some improvement with the tossing of Deleone.

Good start by the D. Both Mac and Meli made good plays,

All I want is a pocket for Whitmer or whoever is QB. Just once...please.... a

Our DTs aren't getting any penetration.

I'm watching the game on my iPhone...the battery is about to die and I couldn't be happier.

What is really scary is that our defense, the only reason we won 5 games last season, is so clearly much worse than last year.

The fact they are losing both the offensive and defensive LOS is inexcusable. I don't care if they're No. 1 in 1-AA. I agree with earlier post. The same tendencies that stuck with us all year are back again. Let me guess. Des is saying we're saving our best plays for MD UM and the AAC schedule. Borderline unwatchable.

And I actually admire what Rob Ambrose has done with Towson. He has a lot of the elements that built the UConn program through Edsall's first half. I think he can be a solid HC at an up & coming program. in FBS. Better than UMass's guy. Better than a bunch of others.

Better than pp?

Better than pp?

I'd say so ... at this moment. We HAD a good defense. But, I see HOLES in the roster that we never had with HCRE. We are just not as capable. Ambrose seems to have a full complement.

Did we just go back to the HCRE era of strictly zone defense?

I was fearing that. A couple of recent quotes indicated that we'd back off a little from Brown's scheme with less pressure. I took that to mean Hughs might go back to the Edsall D and some "bend don't break". I hoped it wouldn't be so.

Towson is the better team. It's actually not even close. This may be heading for a blowout.
