UConn to Participate in 2018 2K Classic

Consider this: whether intentional or by simply winning, UConn has been able to get to the Garden every year since the Big East dissolved

2012: Jimmy V vs. NC State
2013: 2K v. BC/IU
2014: NCAAT v. ISU/MSU
2015: Jimmy V v. UMD
2016: Tire Pros v. SU
2017: Jimmy V v. SU
2018: 2K AND v. Nova

Also as far as field:

I don't like it.

The last time we were in a preseason tournament at MSG with Iowa, it went horribly, horribly wrong.

We did beat duke though...

Ollie, or maybe it was the UConn AD, a couple years ago said they would play at MSG at least once a year. It helps recruiting and it helps marketing of the program and staying relevant.

Have to assume that we get paired with Cuse. In that case I sure hope Jalen Carey is playing for the good guys because otherwise he will likely be dressed in orange.

Field is set: UConn, Syracuse, Iowa, Oregon. Matchups TBD.

I'm assuming this is our only preseason tournament? Kind of a teeny event. Do teams ever play in two? idr.

Can only play in one preseason tourney per season. Small, yes, but at least it guarantees two games at MSG for UConn. That makes 3 MSG games for 2018-19 (Villanova being the third).

Good call. And the teams are good for UCONN too. Games against good teams, but not a Duke early season crushing.

Pretty much extra home games. I love this move, especially when some complain about home OOC schedule. A neutral site game at MSG is awesome, especially with good match ups...

If that means a home and home with Oregon is on the horizon for say the 2019-2020 and 2020-21 seasons then I'm all for it.

This would be outstanding

Any word on tickets being sold for the Syracuse game? Any allotted seats to UConn club or alumni?

Cuse? Great! The more of Cuse, Gtown and Nova I see, the better. I would absolutely LOVE to keep them as yearly games no matter what happens. I would love to see St. Johns, Providence and Seton Hall too.

Add that we fans can easily show up with the usual mass force taking over our 'home' court.
