Knoxville is so insular that most Lady Vol fans always think they will get every recruit even with ample evidence to the contrary. After Kayla Davis de-committed they still thought they would be getting her. Their feeling is that Tennessee is so perfect it is unimaginable to think they would not be every recruit’s first choice. When a recruit picks another school, Tenn fans see that as a flaw in the recruit's character, and thus are glad the recruit went elsewhere. It's a win-win attitude for one's ego.

..or, evidence of malfeasance: surely, if a prized recruit doesn't come to Knoxville, it's because the other school didn't play fair!
