Incoming freshman Gavin Greger and redshirt freshman Jackson Petersen are now listed on the New Britain Bees roster.
Perfect analysis, well done. Morton is a much better hitter. Kron is an elite defender, who isn’t as fast as Morton, but his instincts/athleticism on the bases are elite.Seems like similar in the sense that we can only hope Hourigan works his magic. Also sounds like he is a more natural defender. Morton is super fast obviously but doesn’t always get the best reads, whereas Kron is a natural born outfielder with instincts.
-> As far as what's ahead this fall for Ferrer, he's unsure right now. He's put his name in the transfer portal but his goal is to return to UConn. He has two years of eligibility remaining. He's looking into graduate school programs.
"I want to (go back to UConn)," Ferrer said. "Hopefully. Don't know yet. We'll see. It's just conversations that I've got to have — with family and coach (Jim) Penders. They want me to come back and I want to go back, so we're just going to work for that to happen." <-
Morton by far has the defense in the outfield last year alone if you watched the tourney play his speed has runners not advancing to second and with his Vicious strong arm runners take a small turn around first base. The away announcers talked about it during all tourney play. He’s my choice for centerfield next year .Perfect analysis, well done. Morton is a much better hitter. Now, Ferrer is looking to take advantage of his summer baseball season. He's working on improving his outfield defense and speed. So far, he's thrown the ball well and made two diving catches.
He's mostly playing left field and batting in the top four in the order.
"Offensively, we're struggling," said Orbe, referring to Mystic's .208 team batting average. "We're trying to figure out the best combinations. He has batted anywhere from first to fourth. ... He's been our most consistent at-bat. He's not walking a heck of a lot but he's putting together a lot of really, really good at-bats, which is what we're trying to get."

I saw one of their viral videos and looked up the roster just now out of curiosity. A decent amount of D-I guys, some listed from schools like Auburn, VA Tech, Richmond, Wofford, and then what I would assume are a lot of D-II and JuCo players. And amongst all that, I was tickled to see a “UConn” player listed there. I came here to post as much (even though I remembered you earlier mentioning McBride was in the portal) but see I’m beaten to it.Bobby McBride is currently in the transfer portal, so it is very possible he won't be with UConn baseball next season. Out of curiosity I did a quick search on his name, and found he is playing this summer with the Savannah Bananas of the Coastal Plain League. By the way, the Savannah Bananas put a big emphasis of on entertainment at their games with all sorts of oddball promotions.

Not sure how good the CPL is (I imagine it’s at least a step, if not several, down from the Cape, NECBL, or even Northwoods?) but man, the players know how to have fun!
An update on other UConn players with the Norwich Sea Unicorns.
I don't know with absolute certainty, but I suspect that Ryan Hyde and Curren Larson are both injured and not playing because of said injuries.
Curren Larson pitched in 3 games early on in the Sea Unicorns season, but has not pitched since June 5. He started 2 games for Norwich, including a game on June which I was at. Larson pitched 1 inning, and allowed 1 run. Still, I didn't think he pitched all that badly that game, and at the time I was a bit shocked that he came out after 1 inning. Larson is still with the team, bu has not pitched in a game since that time, which makes me suspect he has some sort of injury. His ERA in the 5 innings he pitched with Norwich is 3.60, which isn't all that bad.
When Ryan Hyde joined the team after UConn's loss to Stanford, Hyde quickly became one of the two main catchers that were being used on the team. I was at the game on June 28, where Ryan Hyde was the starting catcher. I did not see what happened, but during one inning where Hyde was catching, he was taken out of the game after a strikeout for the first out. I did not see what happened, but I'm guessing Hyde might have got hit by a foul tip just before he came out of the game. Hyde is still with the team, but he has not played since that game.
As mentioned before, Jackson Ferrigno is currently in the transfer portal, and I expect that he will not be back with UConn in the fall, but as always, we'll see what happens. Ferrigno has been playing pretty regularly, mainly at 3B and SS, with the very occasional appearance at 2B. I've taking a bit of a liking to him. Ferrigno is currently hitting for a decent average, .267. He is tied for the team lead in doubles (7), and leads the team with 4 triples. He also has his fair share of walks and hit by pitches, which brings his on base percentage to .367. Not bad after redshirting this season with UConn baseball.
