No idea if this is actually true or not, but would make a ton of sense. We need another kid that can play PG...we only have one guy on the roster to do that right now, and who knows if Castle is coming or not. Obvious ties to UConn, local kid, tough player who wouldn't demand a ton of minutes. They appear to be focused on Diarra.

Agree. He's a really good fit, and likely wouldn't expect starter's minutes. Two years + covid year I believe. Looking at his stats, his A to TO ratio is awful (far worse than Gaffney) and his shooting is nothing to write home about. But maybe Taliek can help him.No idea if this is actually true or not, but would make a ton of sense. No one specifically, the board just seems to be doing pretty damn well at predicting commits lately based on twitter follows.Who is this in reference to
What tea leaves?Guessing it’s Diarra reading the tea leaves
His brother can probably just text him lol.No one specifically, the board just seems to be doing pretty damn well at predicting commits lately based on twitter follows.

You have to ask? BY Tea CoWhat tea leaves?
Name checks out. I’m riding with you.No, I hear some stuff second hand from time to time. but usually not specific. Unlike this time.
I wouldn’t mind him to be honest, but there are other players I like too. I would be happy with 2 outta these 3 (Femi, Diarra, Walton), but I doubt 2 would commit. I don’t see Ramey coming but I’d love to have him. They appear to be focused on Diarra.
He is pushing 50Doesn’t Scheffer still have a year of eligibility left? International Point guard with experience…..
He is pushing 50
But I’ll take a young clone in a heartbeat he was very underrated .
UConn fans historically look at the team that lost to MSS as underachieving,
But a closer look and they might have overachieved , other than Ray and Doron the talent level drops and the bench players were decent but not superstar plus freshman
Ray 23.5. 6.5 3.3
Doron 16 4.8 6.1
Kirk King 9.9 6.3 1
Travis Knight 9.1 9.3 2.1
Rudy Johnson 7.5 2.7 1.7
Ray shot .445 from the three .515 from the two which is mind boggling when you consider teams were set up to stop him.
They had Lost Donny , KO, and Brian Fair from the previous year that lost to UCLA a much better and deeper team.
The freshman bench was
Rash Jones
Ricky Moore
They won the Big East , only preseason 16 they actually reached number 1 but still
finished in the top 10 and won 28 games losing 5
Villanova and Kittles crushed them twice , Kansas* crushed them also and pesky PC.
*We were number 1 going into that game which was out there , and the chants of overrated gave me nightmares that night .
He’s Mamadou’s brother who is still a grad assistant. Played at PSA. Thought we should’ve gone after him outta h.s. Supposed to be a tough kid and a winner. Hasn’t been great in college but probably the perfect situation to bring in a guy who’s ok without starting right away at a position of need.Know nothing before about Diarra except what the BY says.
Checked his 2 year stats and just a mid 30% shooter in limited playing time and not a lot of assists.
The good news is that in the NIT, his shooting % and points scored, showed dramatic improvement. So judging by his most recent performance, he might be someone to consider.

nar·cis·sismFine I'll do it. As long as I have a legitimate chance to compete for a starting role in the future.

Small sample of course, but in 13 games after Williams left he shot 44% from 3 on 2.5 attempts per gameI would think he shot far better once their starting pg quit (the team as a whole seeemed to be way better after they sort of just put in in two wings hands and got away from a point guard.
Wow that PG certainly was bad. They lost 9 of 10, he steps away, and then they won 11 of 13. And it's not just a schedule quirk, 84 ORTG is incredibly atrocious and they beat Alabama, Auburn, and Arkansas all away from home during the stretch. As I mentioned in another thread we are close with a key player @ A&M, went to multiple games including SEC Tourney & NIT Final and watched most every minute of the last 10-12 games.
Diarra is a shoot first player, but A&M doesn’t have much inside as Coleman does a lot of his damage facing up. Diarra hit the 3 to beat UF in round one and an absolute TON of big shots in the last dozen games. He’s not afraid of anything. I would think he shot far better once their starting pg quit (the team as a whole seeemed to be way better after they sort of just put in in two wings hands and got away from a point guard.
I would think on a better offensive team & more structure he could shoot 35%+ from 3. He can handle better than anyone we had last year not named RJ, but again not a playmaker For others. Would be a terrific backup guard I believe. He’s tough physically and mentally.
would it help if you accepted that alleyne is probably going to start and we need a 20 mpg CG off the bench instead? odds are alleyne is not coming here to be the sixth man after averaging over 30 mpg on a tourney team. Can someone talk me in to Diarra or Femi? As I see it, we have room for 1 more likely starter (assuming Alleyne is the 6th man). I don’t think either of those guys are fit for that role. We need an immediate 25MPG impact guy.
