Seton Hall is a good pitching team. It's a poor hitting team. I won't knock a team for winning 2 of 3 on the road, but it still seems like our pitchers look much improved when facing poor hitters, and our hitters look much improved when facing poor pitchers, but ....
While we can't expect to win every game, the loss did hurt. Our RPI (which dropped like a stone while we were winning 7 out of 8 because of OOC losses by Big East teams and our OOC opponents largely struggling) as of now would clearly have us on the outside looking in (if we don't win the auto bid), and the Johnnies cut our conference lead to one game with six to play.
The next 9 days will be different, with five straight games against quality opponents, two on the road. We'll know a lot, lot more about this club when they are returning from Cincy.
