What he said ^^Starting pitching is rounding into shape.
We got excellent depth this weekend.Cooke had a terrific game.
Afthim gets the final out, UConn wins the game 5-2. UConn splits the doubleheader, and takes the series over Seton Hall.
And don’t forget the trip to Butler following Cincy…last series for Butler, last place, no postseason and probably no fans and the added expectation that you should win all 3 games, is always a problem and never easy. The next 2 weeks are the season. If they can win out, the BE tournament may be a tournament they wanna win but don’t need to in order to play in June.Seton Hall is a good pitching team. It's a poor hitting team. I won't knock a team for winning 2 of 3 on the road, but it still seems like our pitchers look much improved when facing poor hitters, and our hitters look much improved when facing poor pitchers, but ....
While we can't expect to win every game, the loss did hurt. Our RPI (which dropped like a stone while we were winning 7 out of 8 because of OOC losses by Big East teams and our OOC opponents largely struggling) as of now would clearly have us on the outside looking in (if we don't win the auto bid), and the Johnnies cut our conference lead to one game with six to play.
The next 9 days will be different, with five straight games against quality opponents, two on the road. We'll know a lot, lot more about this club when they are returning from Cincy.
No attack @businesslawyer....... But your honor I object! Have to say this is a very keen sense of the obvious. We can only hope litigation will not be required.I won't knock a team for winning 2 of 3 on the road, but it still seems like our pitchers look much improved when facing poor hitters, and our hitters look much improved when facing poor pitchers.
