Today my wife and I went to the women's basketball tournament games at Gampel. My wife's sister, the sister's boy friend, and my wife's nephew were also at the games, so after the games ended, we went out to dinner with them.

Missed most of the baseball game tonight, we just got home. From what I did hear on the way home and have read, I missed most of another pretty nasty game for the UConn baseball team. I should be back doing game posting during tomorrow's game.

Glad the UConn men's basketball game time doesn't conflict with the baseball game tomorrow.

Top 9th, a lead off single by Tammaro, he eventually scores on a wild pitch with 2 out. That is it, game over. Rutgers wins 13-6, and takes the series.
 
Top 1st, Padilla leads off with a double. After a sac bunt by Shpur moves Padilla to 3B, Morton with a 2 out RBI single, 1-0 UConn. Morton is thrown out trying to steal 2B for the final out of the inning.
 
Have to say I'm not a fan of a sac bunt with a runner at 2B. Runner is already in scoring position, and it is not as if you have to worry about a possible double play with no runner at 1B. But at least UConn did get the runner to eventually score, and UConn has had a horrible time getting runners on base to score. Plus it isn't as if Shpur has been hitting for much of an average.

Scrapping for a lead and runs is clearly the strategery. Can’t blame them. Bunt & run, run & bunt, put the ball in play.
 
Top 2nd, after 2 outs, the UConn offense gets 2 runners on base with singles. Nothing comes of this 2 out rally attempt, all 3 outs this inning were on strikeouts. 1-0 UConn.

Top 3rd, UConn offense leaves a runner at 3B, Shpur reached base on a 1 out single. 1-0 UConn.
