Top 9th, a 1 out walk for Padilla, he is picked off for the 2nd out. Shpur gets a 2 out walk, and then steals 2B. Tammaro follows with an RBI double, 5-1 UConn.

Quigley’s complete game sure helps set the staff up for Tuesday/Wednesday.Bottom 9th, a scoreless inning for S. Quigley after a 1 out single, a complete game victory for Quigley. UConn wins 5-1.
You said it…BE Tourney is the focus the rest of the season. Speaking as a fan, b/c I agree an at-large seems unlikely, the tourney is all that matters now. For the team, they can’t worry about that, just try n win each game. A midweek series sweep could possible matter come late May but winning the BE tourney seems the only way in as of now.Huge game for Quigs to salvage at least a win. Offense still a massive concern. Two big mid week games before conference season kicks off.
At large is off the table. Focus needs to be to get to Big East tournament and hopefully peek then.

It’s real. That’s why I made the comment a few days ago regarding Padilla and Simmons regressing ( Padilla had a great weekend) but overall they had. I found that uncharacteristic of Uconn teams (ie pickoffs). The development/fundamentals have been the identity, that’s why im at a loss for the self inflicted mistakes they are making. A third of the season is gone and these are persistent. Is it just me or have we been picked off a ridiculous amount this season?
