UConn renews series with ND

I think folks are disrespecting other teams just a little bit. How many OOC cupcakes are on the schedule and by cupcakes I mean teams like Hartford and Central Connecticut. The answer? None.

Consider that most of these games are booked a couple of years in advance and it's just bad luck to book big name schools that are likely to have a down year. And now it's even tougher with the portal to predict who is going to be good 2 years down the road.

I don't think anyone is disrespecting any other team. Sure, we have our thoughts on them. But, it's just paper thoughts. There will be some surprises this year, I predict. A lot of folks on this board have their illusions, and the rose colored glasses are 10" thick in some cases, but that is business as usual here.

UConn is the team to beat next year, no question. Only question is, who can challenge them? UCLA, South Carolina, and ?

Or as I believe it's about both. As a former 40 year+ coach I can say without a doubt, to start for the players it's about the destination, for the coach it starts with the Journey and always ends with the destination. I would remind my athletes many times to relax and enjoy the journey, we would talk and share the process or journey, I would emphasize how quickly the season would fly by and be over before they knew it.
The destination is also important, without a destination in mind, to where do you lead your athletes. What as a coach or athlete do you strive to achieve, what is the goal? In any sport any season there is always a destination, no other way to end a season. The questions are, have we achieved our goals as individuals and as a team. Have we achieved the destination we aimed for. I have found that if a coach or player doesn't enjoy the journey no matter the destination the results will be hollow and unfulfilling.

People have been saying this since the old Big East broke up in 2010. The UConn women have been to 14 Final Fours and won 6 championships since then. Remember the AAC? Fans were moaning that the men’s and women’s teams would fall into obscurity. The teams won a combined four championships while in the AAC

Just remember that LSU won a NC with much weaker opponents, and Geno & CD are better coaches than Kim.
