The thought is that if Strong and/or Cabridge don’t sign today, all bets are off regarding previously announced finalists
I guess that would only make sense for Strong in my opinion, who hasn’t officially announced any finalists so yes, I would think it would still be anyone’s game at that point. With Cambridge, she went through the effort of announcing her top 7, I would say that’s the top 7 she is moving forward with in her recruitment regardless of when she announces.

It might be just me, but sometimes the High Schools kids now a days are pretty selfish. I know to her, Sarah knows it is all about her, and she can wait as long as it takes for schools to fall all over her and wait until the last moment to commit. But, to the schools, further recruitment of other players may be put on hold while waiting for her decision. If a school doesn't get her, others who may have been replacement could be committed to others while they are waiting for her. I think if you know where you want to go, call it.

It has always been that way for decades. Recruits can wait as long as they want to with their decision; the elite have earned that right. Coaches can wait for the decision, or remove themselves from consideration earlier in the process in order to sign a different recruit.

The risk to the player is that of a significant injury during her senior year rendering her less attractive to suitors

Today is the last day of Early Signing Commitment.

A recruit could commit tomorrow, but can't sign a LOI until April 17. Of course, they could change their minds during the interim due to being recruited over in the portal, coaching change or any other reason. Today is important!

It's, of course, the kids choice. But there are other factors that weren't part of it in the past. NIL. Social media following. Adults, many times family members, who smell monetary opportunities through the kids.

I just read the above Opinion....and it might be a true one. However, I do have my own opinion... Mine is: " I don't know ". I was 17 once upon a time. Some decisions are just harder than others. Remember the wisdom of Yogi. Best Wishes to Sarah!

As soon as the higher profile kids reveal their choices the incentive for fans, media types etc of the also-rans to "follow" on social media (for the 30+ year olds that do it) is removed. There's a self-esteem factor and an actual monetary consideration.

Yes I don’t think Sarah is intentionally keeping the schools recruiting her waiting because she’s selfish lol. She is a teenager and is about to make a decision that will change the entire course of her life and basketball career. I say Sarah can take all the time she wants! Sarah may be potentially waiting for Joyce Edwards decision today to decide where she wants to go. She may not want to go to LSU if they add another great player because of the already stacked team

Purely speculation: each may have been waiting for the other to pull the trigger.

The rumor I heard earlier that LSU has given up on Strong ( to UConn) to go all in ($500,000) on Edwards has been superseded by a rumored offer to Edwards of 2.2 mil. Both rumors are unsubstantiated and highly doubtful)

Edwards announcing tonight at 5:45 between Clemson, LSU and SCar is substantiated!

so can they fax it in until midnight? Maybe she wants to fax it in late and go to bed, no big public announcement. Just hoping. If we don't get her we will to go portal city. We lose Edwards, Griffin up front, I assume. We gain Jana. If Jana and Ice both pan out, they are the bigs, with DeBerry, Patterson as back ups. I am assuming the young lady from Ireland is a two year development project.

So, Strong & Edwards are both 6-2. I'm not a HS follower, so what are similarities and differences in game, and does that help us if in fact Strong had SC as a finalist?

From what I see they are different. Edwards is lanky, a leaper, very quick and has good all around skills. Strong is bulky, sees the floor well and is a real good passer and shooter all the way out to 3. Strong is a smart space eater and rebounds well while Edwards is good on the boards too but does it with more quickness and athleticism.

From what little I've seen, Edwards seems more 'athletic' in the sense of being quicker and a leaper. Sarah is stronger and perhaps more sure handed. They have similar offensive skills, but I'd rather have Sarah going for rebounds on my team.

It's a risk. Do you recall any recent instances of that happening?

There are lots of rumors floating around about some drama going on in the LSU program right now… I’m hoping that Sarah Strong is paying attention and keeps it into consideration when selecting a school.
Not rumors. Kim sat Reese down for the entire 2nd half with LSU up only 2 pts at the half over Kent State, one of their early season cupcakes. When asked after the game why she sat Reese down, Kim snapped off a two word answer, “Coach’s decision.”

There’s more than that going on. Check the general board

I feel like most UConn recruits know they wanna go to UConn regardless of first night. And after hearing Geno's thoughts on what he liked most about the newest recruits is they knew they want to go to UConn, I'm a lot less optimistic about getting SS lol

At this point, I’m grasping for anything that might give me hope of a Sarah Strong commit. This was posted and then SLAM commented “Got something coming Friday ” Hopefully that something is a Sarah Strong announcement… but probably not. Most likely just a story about how good UConn basketball has been in the last 3 decades or something like that. But would be nice if it was paired with the announcement of the overall #1 recruit

Saw this over on McGraws Bench. Anyone heard about this?

“ rumor that Sarah is announcing this Friday and may have already signed her letter by yesterday. ”
