Not a single person has so much as hinted that the Big 12 will pick schools based on local newspaper articles. Thank you for clarifying a second time (this is where reading the posts makes your replies more pointed)!

If you read the posts you'd already know that I've said she speaks like this to avoid taking responsibility for the outcome (eh that pesky reading - we might not be as stupid as you accuse us of being). If only she sold as hard as she manages expectations!

And if she thinks that is boosting morale she is tone-deaf. It's fine that she doesn't want to lobby the B12, but she should be selling the crap out of our assets to anyone who interviews her. I just get the feeling they already know what's happening. I don't think there's anything else to do but wait for an official announcement. Either they're being quiet because we're in or they're being quiet because they don't want to say anything to get people's hopes up. I don't think there's any middle ground right now.

Holy cr@p, it's actually the number 1 job for her as a University President right now. Getting us in a P5 is of paramount importance and sloppy comments like hers don't engender any confidence in her ability to get the job done. If she already knows she can't get the job done and is trying to manage fans expectations as Fishy thinks, her words were still sloppy as hell.

I would not bet against Cincy vs. us for one spot in the ACC. I think a Nova/Navy football combo would also find a way.

The problem with that scenario is that while telling Fox they'll have the opportunity to kick ESPN in the nuts you will also need to tell ESPN that they are paying half the cost of said kick.

I don't believe that would be an easy sell.
