Aye there we go!
Averted disaster. Penders will breathe a huge sigh of relief and be happy to get back to CT without a loss to a completely overmatched team.
Good gut check performance in the ninth.
"no one deserved to win that game"
"we looked like a circus"
Penders was brutally honest in this interview. It's nice to see a coach that doesn't play the "ah sucks, we won!" card after a God awful performance.
Hartford looks pretty decent this year. That should be a good test to see where we are.
>> Notes
- UConn trailed 3-1 entering the top of the ninth inning, the last time the Huskies came back to win when trailing entering the ninth was at Southeastern Louisiana on Feb. 24, 2018. Isaac Feldstein hit a go-ahead two run homer in the first game of the doubleheader.
- UConn is 4-0 on Sundays this season.
- The five hits on Sunday is the least amount of hits that UConn has had in a win this season.
- The sweep is the first for UConn in 2020 and is the latest sweep for the Huskies since sweeping Michigan State in Greenville, S.C. last March 15-17.
