Accurate.
It's called The Zone
Accurate.
The moving screen was called on Nika. I think it should have been a "no call", and not just because I am a UConn fan.@Sifaka, thanks for posting this AP article, but I believe there’s a small error in the reporter’s story, found in the paragraph below:
“Bueckers — who led UConn to last year’s Final Four, where it lost to eventual champion South Carolina — came out after the break and made clear her collegiate career would continue, scoring eight points early in the third quarter to put the Huskies ahead.”
I am depending on my memory here, and I know they UConn lost to Caitlyn Clark’s Iowa team. They were penalized for moving screen by Aaliyah Edwards, during the very last seconds of the game, and Paige had the ball in her hands to shoot.
So, Jana had 9 rebounds in 12 minutes of play. Seems like that helped.Or maybe his usual exuberance with a live microphone caused him to temporarily forget about El Alfy’s lack of post footwork and fundamentals. At least he’s certainly aware of them now. Hopefully she and the staff can get to work on them this summer. The potential is there, we’ll see if the work is.
Yeah, and nothing good will ever come from it if they follow that advice! How about we give her some credit for her effort against Beers and some understanding that posts take a little longer to develop? She is still essentially a freshman and will, I predict, make you change your tune in the coming three years! There is no reason to throw the ball into Jana. Nothing good comes from it.
Tell that to the person who made the post on Twitter/X. I posted it to support the statement made in the post I replied to.It's called The Zone
Never been there.According to the UCONN chat room:
1st half with UCONN down by four: Geno is a horrible, clueless coach
2nd half with UCONN up by 23: Geno is the best coach in WBB
Problem is Paige was passive and only scored 4 points the entire 4th quarter while CC scored 8 to give Iowa the win@Sifaka, thanks for posting this AP article, but I believe there’s a small error in the reporter’s story, found in the paragraph below:

More than tired. From this year’s men’s tourney:Do you think Oklahoma fans are tired of facing UConn basketball in NCAA tournament games?
She is a freshman post coming back from an achilles tear! I’m betting she will still live up to that description. Sure, she has not done so yet but very few posts do as a freshman, especially coming back from having to sit out a year. Let’s see how she looks next season. Meanwhile, star or not, Jana did an effective job on helping to shut down the most dangerous player on that team! I do agree he did her no favors with that description.I don't know if anyone else recalls but when she was recruited Geno really oversold her. With a lot of words he essentially said she's amazing. That did her no favors. There are times I just have to shake my head at Geno.
I hope she develops into the player that she can be. But the time for to her improve her game is at practice, not in games. If she catches the ball, big IF, she just throws the ball in the general direction of the hoop, with not much of chance to go in. The ball seems to have the effect of a taser on her, as she drops it and flops all around.Yeah, and nothing good will ever come from it if they follow that advice! Under woulda/coulda/shoulda, that would have been the ultimate irony. Had KSU pulled the upset, all three teams that beat UConn this season would have been eliminated in one day. Still, two were knocked out, and the third showed it is eminently beatable. Add in the revenge factor, and I think Geno will have his crew ready for the Trojans tomorrow night.UConn won. ND lost. Tenn lost. I call that a really good day!
I thought the announcers last night were putting lipstick on a pig. The USC/KSU game was close for most of it, but I wasn't impressed with either team. I kept thinking UConn could handle either one of them. I'm glad it's USC. Our players have been itching for an opportunity to take back that home loss in December. They should be ready.Wow! Vegas just posted the opening line for UCONN/ USC.
Believe it or not, the Huskies are favored by 13.5 points!
That is a lot of points even though Juju is out.
And she set some good screens that Dolson would be proud of.So, Jana had 9 rebounds in 12 minutes of play. Seems like that helped.
These days, there is so much stoppage time during the game. It gives us plenty of time to read comments on social media or the caustic chatroom.Never been there.
Personally, I’m more interested in seeing the game than try reading what someone else thinks is happening.![]()
Not obvious to meThey obviously don't win last night without Paige, but outrebounding OU was a big key as well. Limited their possessions and second chance point opportunities. That was a big part of the win.
