Agreed, though I think the apostrophe needs to be added or else it just looks like"Roll Skies", never heard that before but I'm now going to use it hard...
Roll 'Skies!

I deal with it by being Mr. Positive. Overall, Jim's doing a great job keeping the team together. I think they will be ready for a top effort mentally and physically. Not sure how losing two key O players on our side to the portal affects our chances. I hate this instability for all teams. It’s just not right. Wait to after bowl season at least.
Keep in mind, it's not like the next conference expansion phase is at some predetermined year or date in the future. If UConn wins the Fenway Bowl with a good raucous crowd that optically makes for good TV viewing, the Big 12 can extend an invite this summer. Do I expect it? No. But it would not surprise me all that much if that did happen. Can’t help but think we were one year too late. Would we be in the Big 12 if we went 8-4 last year and filling up Fenway Park? Along with basketball back-to-back?
It absolutely is a great selling point to future transfer portal players. Even a branding of "Stepping Stone U" is not a bad thing at all as long as the players using UConn Football as a stepping stone for a bigger time school in the SEC have their personal success aid in the team's success instead of putting up empty stats on a team with a losing record.I could be wrong but I think we can use Robinson (transferred here from Charlotte, had a great year which got him a spot on an SEC school) as a selling point to land other talented kids who want to show they belong at a much higher level than (for example) CUSA.
If we bring in two kids a year who knock it out of the park for a season here, then move on, I wouldn't be all that upset.
It will not.A win might enhance our chances of getting into the Big12/ACC.
Mora and his staff can say to a potential transfer, "I know you have visions of playing in the SEC/Big 10. Let me tell you, we are on TV and are big brand university so if you play well here, those schools will notice. We have a good track record for this. Already Durrell Robinson, Justin Joly (I know ACC), and others have succeeded here. We will give you every chance to succeed if you put in the work here."
I would agree with John most times but given how bad our football team was previously, it may help change the imageIt will not.
Weeell, not really...Speaking of Army, there is one team that will be playing with their full complement. Even if they could opt out, not a single one would let their teammates down.
It's what we are though. Our last conference was G5, and though we may be independent we are not like ND whose independence is treated more like P4 whereas we and UMass are solidly G5 level. Eventually that G5 should be amended to G6 to include the faux PAC. Unless we get a P4 invite, we will by default be lumped with the other G5s.Am I the only one bothered by referring to us as a "Group of 5" school? The G5 refers to 5 conferences: AAC, CUSA, MAC MWC & the Sun Belt - UConn is not in one of these conferences - just call us an independent.

I think you might be. The G5 refers to any team not in theAm I the only one bothered by referring to us as a "Group of 5" school? The G5 refers to 5 conferences: AAC, CUSA, MAC MWC & the Sun Belt - UConn is not in one of these conferences - just call us an independent.
Because our chances are already so good that there is no way to enhance them?It will not.
