UConn @ North Florida (Fri. 3/2/18@6:05p, Sat 3/3/18@2:05p>ESPN3, Sun 3/4/18@12:05p)

The bottom of the UNF order has done all the damage tonight accounting for six hits thus far.

Need to win at least one of the next two against a tough UNF team on the road.

For a while it seemed that UConn was heading for its easiest win of the season. I should have known better.

Need to get the middle of the bullpen straightened out, but a good win none the less.

We could have made this a little easier on ourselves, but once again, our players seemed to hit the ball well.

Fielding has quietly been a major strength.

Interesting note- the stadium where the Ospreys of Northern Florida play is called Harmon Stadium/Dusty Rhodes Field. I thought Big Dust was "born to be a wrassler", but he had a namesake who was a longtime baseball coach at UNF.:p

There have been a number of people known as Dusty Rhodes. There was the wrestler, there was the North Florida coach, and then there was a baseball player in the 1950's. He played for among others the New York Giants and was known as an excellent pinch hitter, including some home runs.

.....and an old friend who was taken from this earth way too young after a 9-year battle with multiple myeloma.

I understand but big upsets are far, far more common in college during the midweek...local teams tend to struggle out of conference against opposing teams best pitchers.

Georgia State and Georgia Tech are red hot.

See very first post in thread for more stadium naming history/facility info ;)

That's baseball.....

That is indeed baseball on all levels. Underdogs beat the favorites more often in this sport than possibly any other. That is why a college team potentially moves up in the rankings when they win a series two out of three.
