UConn MHOC 2022-2023 Schedule

ELynah has information that UConn men's hockey will face off against Cornell at MSG this November

Road heavy? The OP only lists one away game.
Well, in his defense the LIE is a pretty heavy road because typically there are cars stopped all over it.

Any word on schedule or season tix @ the new Storrs arena?
Source from ticket department is saying they haven't figured out how it's going to work with the new arena and season tickets yet. I'll try to get you guys updated on that

Sunday home game. Boo. Probably an afternoon game, opposite the NFL. The Patriots play Monday night, but Eagles-Giants at 1:00 will surely draw some potential fans away from the XL Center.

WBB also playing @ Maryland that day. Is this a potential opening for the new rink? Would be an ideal opponent but finals for students begin the next day.

Too early for the new rink. No way we schedule BU in Storrs with the small rink capacity.

Cornell’s schedule has been released today and it includes a game at MSG on Saturday, November 26 @ 8:00 pm vs “TBA” (trust me, it’s UConn). Also, Frozen Fenway on Saturday, January 7 will be a doubleheader with UMass vs BC and UConn vs Northeastern.

From my sister the Cornell grad...

For those who have never seen a hockey game at MSG, it sounds amazing.

MSG is the best sounding arena I've ever been to: the wood ceiling brings such a warmth to all the in-game sounds and the roar of the crowds sustain so nicely.

Has UConn ever parlayed a hockey game with a Mens'/Women's basketball game? It would be awesome to spend a full day on campus catching a game apiece.

Agreed, that'll be UConn. They did the same thing last year with the BU Red Hot Hockey game when they released their schedule - for some reason released the opponent as "TBD" when it was obvious who the game was. No idea why they do this.

Since the renovation, it's a great place to see a hockey game. Awesome sightlines and Cornell always brings a huge crowd to the game. Highly, highly recommended that anyone from UConn goes. UConn, from CU's perspective, is less of a "historic" rival so you might get less of their casual fans - that's a good thing. They have an enormous alumni base in NYC who all show up.

Not sure they'd do an afternoon BB game at MSG with a night college hockey game. Usually the Rangers play an afternoon game on that Saturday before the night game.

The Rangers play Edmonton at 1:00.

Cornell hockey has been playing at MSG on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend for several years. It’s a big alumni event. Every odd numbered year since 2007, they play in the “Red Hot Hockey” game vs BU. In recent years they’ve added “Frozen Apple Hockey” in even numbered years against opponents such as Michigan, Penn State, Harvard, New Hampshire and now, UConn. Typically, the event is announced around Labor Day when tickets go on sale.

This is turning into quite the Thanksgiving week for sports...UConn MBB/WBB out at PK85 starting on the Thursday, USA-England World Cup the Friday, this game on Sat, NFL/NBA/NHL all playing as well!

The schedule is front loaded with 9 games in October, 8 in November, 4 in December, 7 in January, only 4 in February and 2 against BC in March before the Hockey East playoffs. Probably only 4 or 5 games in the new arena. Cav will likely use two goalies early before riding the hot hand down the stretch.
