7-2 now. If only we could get this kind of run support more consistently.
 
Another homer by DeRoche-Duffin in the 5th inning makes it 7-2 UConn. Streaky he is.
 
Easy 1-2-3 inning for Tim Cate in the 5th. He's retired 7 batters in a row.
 
RBI Double makes the score 7-3 after an unfortunate strikeout wild pitch. Insurance runs / not dying on offense vs a bad bullpen would be nice.

Poor outing for Cate, but we've finally given him some run support. Have to get out of this inning.

Lead cut to 7-6. This would be a NIGHTMARE of a loss.
 
A rarity, a bad showing for Dandeneau. Domnarski coming in to try to get the last out in the 6th. 7-6 UConn.

How do we get off the mat...8-7 Memphis, and Memphis is a HORRIBLE team at the plate.
 
Bullpen implosion, haven't had too many of those lately. Husky bats have to go to work to salvage this thing.
 
Good thing bats are working today...3 more @ bats to get 2.

God awful inning. Starts with wild pitch that probably should have been blocked. Then the umpires don't watch the runner leave second early. Then Penders pulls Cate who was cruising. Then the home plate ump misses obvious strike 3.

LOL what did we just do...trick play gives us a 9-8 lead. Way to go Penders!
 
Penders pulls out the dead duck play, and it actually works. UConn takes the lead 9-8.
 
I know that strike out went in our favor but the home plate ump has been extremely inconsistent with his strike zone. Both side have been in his ear all day

Polonia gets a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the 7th. Perhaps UConn bullpen normalcy has returned.
 
Based loaded, 1 out, 10-8 lead. Feeling much better about this game but we really should get at LEAST 2 more this inning.
 
Huskies pick up two insurance runs in the top of the 8th to make it 11-8. This game is simply nutty.
 
11-9, Hill failed to make a play at 2nd base and Polonia botches a throw to first base that leads to that run scoring.
