UConn is going Bowling > Wasabi Fenway Bowl v. Army (Saturday 12/27/25 @2:15 on ESPN)

That's not even it. It just feels like going to the same bowl two years in a row (one...mind you...that all of the bowl projections never had us returning to) is a bad thing...for the players, for the fans, for the program.

The Fenway Bowl is easily near the bottom of bowl games I've been to (and I've been twice!) It's a bad product and I think too many folks ignore that fact.

And selfishly, I was looking forward to taking a big trip with my son. A trip down 93 doesn't hit the same. Sorry!
Save your money, Bro. We will go and send you photos. Enough already.

Damn, I like having a nearby game but could we at least have gotten the pinstripe bowl just to change it up.

Regardless, I would've went but my wife likes to do a Christmas in NYC day every year and we already got tickets to see a musical (and some other things) on that very day. If we got into the Pinstripe bowl, maybe I could've worked it into the day.

I may very well go take him to Memphis to see my Bearcats play. I'd much rather watch UConn but I am also not very interested in going to Fenway a third time in 4 years. (It was also not "packed" unless you consider <70% capacity packed. I certainly don't...and especially not for events at Fenway.)
Just do the obvious thing and take him to a basketball game.

I don’t think it will be an auto win. Just that the way we were lit up on D by Delaware and FAU running non-option offenses, and the way we played against Air Force, I am not panicked about facing an option team. I am panicked whenever we’re on D.
At least there will be a LOT of video to analyze and plenty of time to prepare. And a game using a four man front under UConn's belt.

My God. This was posted on a public forum for all to see.
They're not getting any younger. This could be my last chance to see The Safety Dance live. I've already seen UConn in the Fenway Bowl. Last May I finally got to see AC/DC.

In all candor, you are allowed to feel however you do feel about this. Coincidentally, I'll be in New Hampshire that weekend, and currently trying to juggle a couple of things so I can attend this game.

As you don't view this game as being worth your time, money or trouble, maybe you can find something in here.. Things to do in NH

.-.
This. Army will treat it like the Super Bowl.
uhh..... I would say Army/Navy is their super bowl... not a meaningless bowl against UConn.

I agree that they'll come out full force, since service academy kids aren't portal drama queens, but let's not pretend this bowl comes even close to the navy rivalry, in terms of importance for army's 2025 season.

What is memorable or compelling about that song without little people prancing about?

Whenever any UConn team plays in Florida the arena is 80% Husky fans. I went to the women’s UConn vs USF game in Tampa last week and it was mostly UConn fans. The UConn club in the Villages has 400 fans, lol. They ship bus loads to games

No, I do NOT live in the Villages, thank goodness
Walked into a restaraunt in Longboat Key wearing UConn gear, the maitreD saw me and ran over like I was his long list brother. He was a Brit, both of his kids went to UConn and one worked for Geno. He’s going to set me up with the head of the Alumni Assoc in So Fla. Go Huskies!

Just tell the security guard at the gate you're "just visiting" for the day??? Assure the guard you'll he gone in time for IHOP early bird???

I like that we will again be playing in BC's backyard. Heck, we will be playing in their front yard while they just sit and watch from their window.
Was going to post but you got there first. BC's front yard! Can't say what I would love to next as The Bone Yard would ban me.
There would have been several of. #! %@#& #@$% FBC Nothing more nothing less. 😉

28k showed up with very little help from UNC fans. This game has the potential to be a sellout due to the fanbases involved.
What other bowl arw we having thia type of turnout? Pinstripe? They seem to be locked into bigger teams each year so not as likely but as others have said its nice to be wanted.
Remember years ago Fenway wanted us as Notre Dames opponent until BC through a hissy fit and got us bumped.
Boston likes us, embrace it.

Big disappointment - was just at the UConn vs FAU game, great game and weather. Saw them play bowls in Toronto, Detroit, Charlotte, Glendale, Birmingham, Myrtle beach and Fenway in miserable weather several years back. Fenway was the worst. We deserve much better. Was so liking forward to a warn weather bowl. Very angry.

Disgusting outcome. 9-3 season and we get a (most likely) 6-6 Army, who finished 6th in the AAC. On top of that, there’s no novelty in playing the same bowl 2 years in a row - when does that ever happen? Just gross.
There's the novelty, that's the novelty! "Fenway Bowl Champions 2 Years Running!" has a nice ring to it!

Sure many of us wanted a different bowl but this gives UConn another year to draw in more fans from Mass and parts of New England. Many more UConn fans will be able to make this game as opposed to flying south, which many can't do. And I am sure Army will bring a big crowd. Even non-Army fans will go to appreciate watching Army and their cadets, it's a unique experience.
Glass Half Full!

This opponent is tough for three reasons: I like the academies and root for them unless we play them, I really wanted a P4 team and the option is always tough and this years D seems particularly vulnerable.

That said aftee shaking off a little initial dissapointment I am still pumped and booked accomodations last night and bought tickets for my group of 24. Last year we had 10. Had a great time, and atmosphere was good with a lot of Uconn fans in attendance at game and with a noticeable presence in the area for two days.

It’s a blah matchup but it doesn’t really matter. We have a new coach coming in and there’s a great chance that our best players won’t even play in the game. I’ll watch and pull for a win, but I think our fan base has moved onto the future mentally for this year. I’d rather play Army in Fenway than play a solid P4 without our stars and get drilled. Yes, it’s disappointing but it isn’t too big a deal given the circumstances.
Army never blah. Come on.

Would expect a heavy amount of opt outs…
Why? I guess Bell could Opt out and some guys who are hell bent on transferring. But, why work so hard at a G5 school to get a game?

The opt out trend is odd to me. It screams if agents saying don't get hurt and cost you money. If that's the case, why play any game?

Some sports fans don't like bowls. It's weird too me why not. It's a college football celebration for an entire month and part of the culture. We’ve ruined that because people are enamored with tournaments and crowning a champion.

Where we’ll play. Opponent. All set. Who will play for us?

Nobody from an academy will enter the portal so we get their best.

It just shows how many casuals we have in the football fanbase that have no idea what's good for the program, better, what the options really are, how these things work.

Is it warm so I can take a vacation? I am a transplant so is it near my house? I am a bandwagon jumper but will only jump if we play and beat p4 teams? These are the people jumping up and down now.

Thats ok, the program needs the casuals because we are not there yet. We've yet to recover all the fans from before but with these 9 win seasons we are starting to get there.
