UConn is going Bowling > Wasabi Fenway Bowl v. Army (Saturday 12/27/25 @2:15 on ESPN)

When we look back on this year, is the story gonna be "we won 10 games" or is it gonna be "we got stuck with Army in our bowl game"?
You all are entitled to your personal preferences for location and opponent but a)it wasn't that long ago we were 6-6 and no bowl game wanted us. Fenway letting us come back is a good thing. b) people won't laugh at a win over army. We could do worse.

We should be aware though, army won't phone it on like UNC last year; they'll come ready to play.

Thinking some more, this thing has been set up to get UConn its 10th win by our friends in the ACC to whom we most probably will have to pay half the compensation.

Where in the world are you pulling that idea out of? The ACC could not fulfill all of its bowl obligations... as a result UConn was slotted into the open spot. No setup, unless you think the ACC intentionally didn't have enough 6 win or a 5 win team with a high enough Academic Rating.

i have nothing but respect for army football.
so, i have no problem playing army.

but for a bowl? army's a game we can schedule any time. A bowl should have been against someone we wouldn't normally play. would have loved to see us vs. Washington, LSU, Nebraska, Northwestern... or another midling p4. etc.

I hear the pros about it, but to me this feels like a zombie game.

Also - i remember the bad years, but that doesn't matter. every year is its own organism. This was too good of a year to end w/ friggin Army. I'm sure UConn itself feels the same, but wat are u gonna do. we're not at the point yet of declining bowl invites... so army it is. Go UConn

UConn literally has zero bowl tie ins and zero control of which bowl game onvites they get. There isn't any "should" in UConn''s bowl game invites.

Two 9 win seasons and all of a sudden you all think we’re too good for a bowl game and an opponent? Wow…..how quickly we forget the 2010’s outside Diaco’s one bowl game and RE v2.0. Playing in a bowl game, close by, packing a stadium, is a great look. Would it be nice playing a P4 team? Sure why not. But many of you saying Blah or this is disappointing need a reality check. We have been good for two years, maybe three. What right do we have to a better bowl? Sorry, I’m just happy we’re playing in a bowl game that’s after XMas and not in some crap location.

And for those who are saying “oh if we lose to Army it will horrible for us.” Sure, it’s a bad way to end the season but two years from year, will anyone care or remember, outside the BY faithful, who we lost to? All we’ll care about is our 9 wins.

Nobody wants to play The Army and deal with 60 minutes of chop blocks with their stupid option game - not that all of a sudden we're "too good" for the bowl or opponent.

I watch a little Army. Most of the Temple game. Army 14 - Temple 13. They are not impressive. They beat Air Force 20-17. We should score against them. If we win the TO battle we should do well.

We dont know yet who will be playing for us.

Went last year with some friends and brought kids. Had a great time. Lot of UConn fans there - and remember hearing from folks tied to Fenway they were very impressed about uconn turnout.
Watching Armys style of play is rough. Thats the painful part of who are opponent is. But the crowd will be great. Army will bring army folks and uconn fans will show up. Should be a great atmosphere again. Hope our players show up one more time and dont opt out

I think what most people are forgetting is that our entire defense are Seniors with no eligibility left. None are predicted to be draft picks so no reason to think any would sit out. Although they haven't been great, they did slow down a similar style in Air Force just weeks ago. I do know Chadwick and Doumande are in the portal, hopefully Doumande comes back and for Chadwick not sure missing a CB would be a big deal against Army. So overall I think we are in good shape defensevily
