I just watched tonight's Breeze vs Phantom game and, inspired by Paige and Tiff, i thought we should have a thread devoted to the UCONN exploits this season.
Right now there's a lot of gushing about Paige's D (2 blocks plus a bunch of lock-ups), and efficiency on the postgame show. I can't wait for Malonga, Rickea and Cameron Brink to consistently convert excellent feeds from her...
Tiffany was impressive for Phantom and looks like she could/should play forever.
I missed the other games but just caught that Aliyah Edwards was injured (after an impressive performance) in the 3rd quarter of her game. Hope she'll be ok.

Paige was unstoppable in this format.

Paige doing Paige things, what did you expect?
I realized how much I missed watching her. Most of the time she was guarded by Kelsey Plum. I hope Kara Lawson and Sue Bird were watching. She is much stronger and in a 3-3 format with a court more than 20 feet shorter and an 18 second shot clock, she is just hypnotic to watch.

I don’t know how many fans the Unrivaled arena holds, but it was packed last night, and from the reaction of the crowd, Paige was the #1 attraction. When she hit that deep 3 buzzer beater at the end of the 2nd qtr, with Boston closing out on her, the crowd went crazy.

I watched 3 games. 3 games more than last year's season. It's an interesting format. Because of the short clock, it really promotes 1 on 1 play, which plays into Paige's strength.
The thing about Paige is the shots she makes have a really high degree of difficulty. Spinning fall aways and pull ups. She often does not go all the way to the rim or take open threes. She really does not shoot a lot of threes.

Last year, the capacity was 850. They were supposed to expand it to 1,000 for 2026.

To add to Paige's tremendous stat line, she had 0 TOs, which is especially impressive to me, given the pace of play.

Aaliyah will have some heavy lifting to do this season, especially if Skylar Diggins is out for any length of time, but I think she's up to the challenge. She and Marina Mabrey were mounting a real comeback in the second half when she went down with an injury.

I can't help but fantasize about Paige and Malonga joining forces once they're both beyond their rookie contracts.
It's amazing to think that the Breeze, in just their second game, had stretches of beautiful basketball (initiated by Paige, but also executed by all 5 players to play for them tonight).
Paige was not particularly hot tonight from the field but still shot 50% when all was said and done. It was kind of a throwback night in the sense that Paige had one of those rare stretches when she doesn't protect the ball (3 turnovers in about a minute), but still had a 16 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 memorable sequence when she blocked a shot, secured the ball and immediately threw a great pass to Kate Martin, who was ahead of the field, for a layup.
The Breeze are really good already and are only going to get better.

Dumb question time.
Does anyone know how to find Unrivaled scores, standings schedules, info on the ESPN app?
I'm guessing that there's an Unrivaled website but I usually go to the ESPN app to get the latest snooker scores, etc so...

There is no app at this time, but Unrivaled's website is the place to go for box scores, etc.

I wish they would have a "tab" on the ESPN website. they have WNBA, WCBB, MCBB, etc. plus all the other sports - i have to imagine unrivaled has more interest at this time than NWSL, NLL, PLL or LLWS at this time...

Yes, but does Unrivaled have a contract with ESPN?

It was a fun watch. I hope Unrivaled makes it. They had half the viewership the first game this year vs last year.

That's an interesting point. I just thought that the EntertainmentandSportsProgrammingNetwork originally covered all sports because they didn't have any contracts with any sport. It never really broadcasted entertainment shows that were not sports based.
