Maybe he becomes a decent player one day but watching these Blazers games Yang Hasen is terrible and I don't understand why they took him over Coward or even trading the pick to the Pelicans since they were willing to give up an unprotected first rounder for the draft spot. Folks were jumping the gun over Summer League play and saying he was going to take DC's spot but he's miles away from what DC was as a rookie.
It drove me crazy listening to people hype him up after Summer League. He isn’t close to being an NBA player, and there is a reason most people had him going in the second round. I hope he turns into a solid backup, because I want the Blazers to be good. I feel a bit vindicated, though.

The Blazers did get a 2028 first round pick (not a great one) and two second round picks out of the deal. Still, they could have used Coward, or somebody else who can shoot while being a competent defender.

I saw Nurkic/Jokic comparisons going around twitter/reddit after his summer league play, with DC playing the role of Nurkic and getting shipped out like how that era of Nuggets basketball played out. Just nonsense, rookie year Jokic popped immediately when he played, right now Yang is standing out to me for how bad he looks on the court.

Yesterday NBA -
  • Cam: 7 points on 2-3 shooting in 18 minutes off the bench. 5 assists
  • Drummond: DNP-CD. The 76ers C rotation confuses me. When Embiid is out, Drummond starts. When Embiid is in, Adem Bona gets backup minutes. Not sure what's up with that
G League -
  • Bouknight: 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks on 4-11 (2-7 from three)
  • Tyler Polley (!!!) with the start and scored 20 points in 23 minutes on 7-10 shooting (3-4 from three)

Clingan and Flagg swap jerseys

A nice reminder that their moms were best friends and teammates at Maine, and now their sons are not only in the NBA but thriving there.

And Clingan swatted a ball that was on its way down, below the basket, thus wasn't a block.

My take is Clingan was so intimidating, Flagg flubbed the shot.

Mental illness

Liam getting early 1st quarter rotation minutes for Charlotte, he got some early minutes the other day with Kon injured but he's back in the lineup and Liam is getting minutes with Kon on the floor.

The Memphis coach is a moran. I watched the end of the game last night. Down 3 with 2 seconds left, inbounding at half court, and Cam on the bench with his 49% 3P

Worst part is they got a pretty clean look and air balled

Castle is really struggling the last 3 games since that OKC sweep. Has a couple lob assists, so he's contributing a little - but he can't find ways to score and he'll turn it over trying to bully ball his way to the basket against defenses daring him to shoot.

Castle's ability to score in the halfcourt is handicapped right now, Knicks have him bottled up. Shooting off the bounce gotta be an offseason priority to add to his game.

Champagnie on a heater (11 threes) and Fox playing well … so Castle is sitting down the stretch today.

Wemby also had a bit of a knee sprain. Doesn’t seem super serious. But Wemby, Castle, Vassell (out with injury) and Harper are all sitting down the stretch.

Looked like a hyperextension like what just happened with Cam Johnson and Jokic, hopefully not too serious

Notice as soon as someone here said Castle will be a better NBA player than Ray he ends up struggling. This is why you should always live in the moment and keep it in your pants.

Bad defense from Chet here – he can't allow the drop-step – but this is very impressive from Donovan nonetheless.

I like seeing Don do things that take advantage of the fact he’s 7’2.

Whenever Castle struggles or goes on a slump I think one thing that’s important to remember is that he’s 21 playing his second season in the NBA.

I've said he'll be the best UConn NBA player since he started playing as a rookie.

Those living in the moment probably wouldn't keep it in their pants.
