Big DC starting to play with an attitude. Watch out.
I agree with aceboon that he was looking a bit less lively on D since the injury but the effort was still there and coach keeps him in. But yeah, this week he's looking like he's getting back to his old self.

You're having a lot of trouble with the rule.

A shot has to have had a chance of going in for it to be considered blocked. That ball was never going in the hoop.

The off the board alley oop Castle did to Wemby last night also didn’t count as an assist.

The NBA stats team needs to be hit with a warrant.

Did they count it then as a missed FGA for Castle and an OREB for Wemby?

2-4 from 3 for DC. 16-33 his last 14 games. Keep shooting kid
More importantly to Portland, over his last 8 games he's averaging 30 mpg, to go along with 13.4 p/11.2 r/2 a/1.5 b,. Most out of whack, he's shooting 70% from the field but only 43% from the line.

You're confused by goaltending and a blocked shot.

Nope. Didn’t give Castle the steal prior to it either.

That’s crazy. So did they give the steal to Harrison Barnes instead (it looks like he maybe deflected the pass attempt)? I haven’t seen it formatted as an afterthought in parenthesis like that before… and since there is nothing else inserted regarding the offensive play are they just counting Steph throwing it off the backboard as a non-event?

If he did tip it that is his steal. That is the way the NBA has counted steals as long as I can remember.

Jokic to he re-evaluated in 4 weeks. Very happy it’s not more serious than the hyper-extension they say. unfortunately he may not be eligible for MVP as there are 18 games in that time frame. That sucks with the season he is having.

Maybe he becomes a decent player one day but watching these Blazers games Yang Hasen is terrible and I don't understand why they took him over Coward or even trading the pick to the Pelicans since they were willing to give up an unprotected first rounder for the draft spot. Folks were jumping the gun over Summer League play and saying he was going to take DC's spot but he's miles away from what DC was as a rookie.
It drove me crazy listening to people hype him up after Summer League. He isn’t close to being an NBA player, and there is a reason most people had him going in the second round. I hope he turns into a solid backup, because I want the Blazers to be good. I feel a bit vindicated, though.

The Blazers did get a 2028 first round pick (not a great one) and two second round picks out of the deal. Still, they could have used Coward, or somebody else who can shoot while being a competent defender.

I saw Nurkic/Jokic comparisons going around twitter/reddit after his summer league play, with DC playing the role of Nurkic and getting shipped out like how that era of Nuggets basketball played out. Just nonsense, rookie year Jokic popped immediately when he played, right now Yang is standing out to me for how bad he looks on the court.

Yesterday NBA -
  • Cam: 7 points on 2-3 shooting in 18 minutes off the bench. 5 assists
  • Drummond: DNP-CD. The 76ers C rotation confuses me. When Embiid is out, Drummond starts. When Embiid is in, Adem Bona gets backup minutes. Not sure what's up with that
G League -
  • Bouknight: 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks on 4-11 (2-7 from three)
  • Tyler Polley (!!!) with the start and scored 20 points in 23 minutes on 7-10 shooting (3-4 from three)

Clingan and Flagg swap jerseys

A nice reminder that their moms were best friends and teammates at Maine, and now their sons are not only in the NBA but thriving there.

And Clingan swatted a ball that was on its way down, below the basket, thus wasn't a block.

My take is Clingan was so intimidating, Flagg flubbed the shot.

Mental illness

Liam getting early 1st quarter rotation minutes for Charlotte, he got some early minutes the other day with Kon injured but he's back in the lineup and Liam is getting minutes with Kon on the floor.

The Memphis coach is a moran. I watched the end of the game last night. Down 3 with 2 seconds left, inbounding at half court, and Cam on the bench with his 49% 3P

Worst part is they got a pretty clean look and air balled

Castle is really struggling the last 3 games since that OKC sweep. Has a couple lob assists, so he's contributing a little - but he can't find ways to score and he'll turn it over trying to bully ball his way to the basket against defenses daring him to shoot.

Castle's ability to score in the halfcourt is handicapped right now, Knicks have him bottled up. Shooting off the bounce gotta be an offseason priority to add to his game.

Champagnie on a heater (11 threes) and Fox playing well … so Castle is sitting down the stretch today.

Wemby also had a bit of a knee sprain. Doesn’t seem super serious. But Wemby, Castle, Vassell (out with injury) and Harper are all sitting down the stretch.
