UConn in the NFL

Boyle's in the NFL?

Is this a question of surprise? The sort answer is: No, he is not. He is 4th on the Packers preseason depth chart, with a chance to make their practice squad.

Yes, it was mild surprise based on what a rough go he had at UConn (although I know he had a much better stint at E. Kentucky.) He even had 2 TD passes this weekend.

Eh...In context, I don't put to much stock in the 2 TDs, personally. Boyle has a canon and NFL teams love QBs who can throw 70 yards in the air. Especially when he costs the Packers virtually nothing.

Nick Williams is also an outstanding gunner on Special Teams. He's as tough (and as fast) as they come.

Go Nicky-Will!!

Titans Wide Receiver Nick Williams Making Case To Be On 53-Man Roster
Erick Bacharach Nashville Tennessean August 14, 2018

“There was plenty to like about Nick Williams' performance Thursday in the preseason opener. The Titans wide receiver had the team's biggest play yardage-wise, when he ran a crisp slant route, caught a laser from Marcus Mariota and ran about 30 yards after the catch for a 38-yard gain that helped set up a Titans touchdown. That play, though isn’t what struck coach Mike Vrabel the most. "Receivers that make tackles on kickoffs on the 10-yard line tend to get noticed and tend to have a chance to stick around."

Shame it’s headed down this path...

It's also the Raiders who gave Jon Gruden an unheard of 10 year, $100 MM contract so he can show them 1970s game film in 2018 and alienate their best player, Khalil Mack, so I don't exactly consider that organization to be the hallmark of player development/evaluation and just overall good decision making.

In other words:
>>ESPN @Jeff_Legwold's by email has written that Andreas scarce-according to HC Vance Joseph-did not train today because he struggling with symptoms of a concussion. He injured his head last Saturday against the Bears and had migraines on Monday. He will probably not play on Friday against the Redskins. #nfldk <<

Most crucial abilitiies in NFL are availability and dependability.
