Hawkins is still putting up points but his efficiency is all over the place

First 3 games: 18.0 PPG on 52.9% FG and 52.9% 3P. Unsustainably high but REALLY good lol

Next 2 games: 13.5 PPG on 33.3% FG and 26.7% 3P

Next 2 games: 21.0 PPG on 40.0% FG and 31.3% 3P

For the season: 17.6 PPG on 42.7% FG and 37.5% 3P

He has to adjust to being a defensive target. But it looks like he’s adjusting just fine. He obviously had the green light.

Would love to see him still have the green light when the Pelicans are fully healthy. Hawkins as a 6th man flamethrower sounds like a really good role, and he’ll probably get some better looks with more threats on the floor

Solid game so far from Andre. Nothing special but at least he’s seeing minutes and being productive with 6-5 through the third.
That’s awesome, after the preseason I wondered if he’d play much at all.

Andre looked like their best defender tonight. Unfortunately he can’t guard 5 guys at a time. This team must disgust him seeing such poor effort.

Hawkins was listed on the injury report as questionable for his back. Otherwise I am sure he would have gotten starters minutes.

Hawkins out tonight?

He’s been day to day for a week or so. Back pain (muscles?). Probably one of the reasons his shot has been off a bit also.

Clingan night appears to be over. He’s been a tad underwhelming on the boards and they give him zero shots. His shot blocking/defense has been exceptional though.

Castle has taken at least three half court + end of quarter/half shots this year. Bad for percentages but good for showing he cares.

Steph will be fine the Spurs were very aware that they needed to work on his 3pt shot. I haven’t seen him play much because the games are so late but he is in a good position wishing Coach Pops a speedy recovery.

On cue Castle hits double digits for the first time. Game in the third quarter.

Wemby really hasn’t impressed me offensively. He is so weak and his shot selection is so poor. Obviously a beast defensively, but they allow him to really stink it up on O sometimes.

A guy who is 7’5 averaging seven threes a game on 20% shooting is absurd. He needs to hit up Timmy or Dirk to work on go to moves. If he can get a Dirk one legger at his size he becomes unstoppable.

Castle is going to be such a good nba player. Needs more experience and a better outside shot but he can already get to where he wants off the dribble and can already physically bully nba players.

Any word on Cam Spencer's ankle? I've seen "DNP-right ankle" for about 2 weeks now.

Saw this on X today: Stephon Castle has guarded 56 different NBA players through the first 6 games. Not a single player has hit multiple field goals when Castle was on them.

It's unbelievable how far his defense has come in the past 18 months. HS Steph was a matador and now I am seeing DOPY talk as a rook.

It's a shame and actually a travesty we made him work so hard to improve his defense during his time at UConn. Everyone knows they don't value defense in the modern NBA. Lots of wasted effort that could have been better-spent working on his mid-range and point-guard skills.
