Since some one posted Ajax, let's do a piece for Castle (deservedly so):

In Spurstalk (fan forum), they have two active threads on Castle.
Spurs fans are head over heels over Castle and crowning him the best all around player on the team including Wemby.
They are salivating over
His BBIQ
composure
defense
court vision,
driving the lane(FTs)
...
are all off the charts for a rookie.
Basically, the 3 point shooting is the only blemish in his game, and even that should not stop him from being all-start soon....

Some funny comments:

Steph Castle before NBA draft: I'm really a point guard though
Basketball experts: ha ha nah man get real
Steph Castle playing NBA basketball: I'm really a point guard though

Castle made Shepperd looks like 2nd rounder...

Somebody said that Gary Payton is his floor. I'm not sure the youngsters out there will realize what a compliment that is.
His floor is the Hall of Fame? Who is this somebody who said this?

Same on the Spurs subreddit. I check in after every game and they adore Steph. It's cool to see another fanbase "get it." They love his incredible screen navigation, his extremely high level IQ and his vision. A ton of hyperbole for sure but they are a smart fanbase that can appreciate a guy playing the right way.

Bouknight playing in G-league, off the bench for 14 in 8 minutes so far.

Clingan having a REAL stinker

Seems like most of Portland is playing pretty poorly right now.

Right now, it’s 25-19 Jazz over Spurs, and Spurs have a kid named Castle who’s 3-3 from 3 with 9 points already.

Some G League action:

Bouknight yesterday: 25 points and 4 rebounds on 8-19 (6-14 from three)
Joey C is on the Lakers G League team but didn't get any minutes yesterday
Newton today: 18 points, 6 assists on 6-14 (4-10 from three)
Polley today (same game as Newton): 2 points on 1-4

Been watching a little pro ball. Everybody talks offense but I can’t think of a program losing the kind of defensive talent that Connecticut has in last 2 years. I watch the way Castle and Andre guard on the perimeter and then how Clingan still changes the game at the pro level. All three are impactful now. There could be 3 all defensive team guys that have matriculated to the NBA in the last 2 years. Potential is there. It’s crazy. Maybe UNLV or Cincinnati back in the day. Georgetown.

Castle had 23 pts on 8-16 FG, 4-5 FTs, 3-7 from 3, along with 3 assists and 0 TOs

This guy will become a very good NBA player. Remember, he is only 20 years old.

Edit: sorry everyone, I didn't see UConnSwag11's post 2 above mine.

Watching Donovan and Blazers against Memphis without Ja. They are getting crushed at home at half. Donovan played his usual 6 or so minutes. Looked ok, but he really needs to improve his strength and conditioning. Which has been said many times on this board. He can clearly block shots at the nba level, but hes hunting them a bit too much and fouling more than a starter should. At this point he likely cant play starter minutes for 2 reasons. Physically hed be gassed. Hed also probably be close to fouling out in about 20-25 minutes.

Blazers are straight trash. Watching them down at half by 20, at home, to Ja-less Memphis. Chauncy cant be around for too much longer.

Didn’t realize there was a Clingan/Edey rematch last night. Grizzlies demolished the Blazers by 40+. Edey had some highlights on Clingan but Clingan also had some on him, including a few dunks and a nice block

Edey: 24 minutes, 12 points on 5-7, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 1 block, 6 TO

Clingan: 16 minutes, 13 points on 5-7, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, 2 TO

Not UConn related but this was the more interesting duel of the night.

Jokic had 37 points, 18 rebs, 15 assists, 3 steals, 3-3 three pointers

Irving had 43 points on 17-22 shooting

It's ridiculous how great Jokic is. Best player in the NBA for 5 seasons in a row and he's still somehow getting better.
