UConn in the NBA - March version

Coming from the guy who thinks there might be a backstory (of what, some kind of bad blood?) to why someone says they are from their hometown.
More a backstory as to why you'd intro yourself as from something other than UConn when 90% of players would say their college. One already offered - idolized guys like Lebron who don't have a college to state - another that he was only here for a year.

But, yeah, often times there IS a backstory. Especially in the NFL when they do the video intros. Very few say anything but their college and when they don't, there is typically a reason why that isn't one of the two above. Especially since there are no NFL players that didn't go to college, for the most part.

On 20/43 from the field, 7/22 from 3, and 36/43 from the line. Sometimes the NBA is just dumb.
And fouling the other team intentionally so he can keep trying to score is pretty lame.

There’s not always a back story, sometimes guys like to be unique and rep their tiny hometown. Some guys say their elementary school. It’s not that deep.

If I went to some big university and I had a small town that doesn’t get much national pub, I might rep them in the intro. It’s just not that unique or necessarily an issue.

T.O. Was one of the initial guys saying different than his college, he once said “Terrell Owens, another planet.”

Great game by Clingan tonight 21 points, 15 rebounds, 6 blocks, 3 steals, 2 assists. He has been a monster since the PGs have started to come back.

Cam had a good game also with 19/2/5
Its almost like without point guards he couldn't focus on his game in the paint because no one could get him the ball.

NBA Prime does their version of TNTs where did he play but college version. And John Wall is actually very good at this game.

The Game Theory podcast did an episode on under the radar players. Not only did they lead off with Clingan, but Sam Vecenie said the entire inspiration for the episode was an excuse to talk about him. I haven’t quite finished the entire episode, but the Clingan part starts at 16:25. They are so high on him.

Castle ends with 23-7-8 and a key late three to help put it away. Shot 9-19 … would have been .500, but Wemby gave him a 911 pass at the end of the shot clock in the last minute.

Clingan ended up 14 and 11 as he rested most of the second half.

Spencer had 12 points and 7 assists with one TO in only 16 minutes. His A:TO continues to be pretty ridiculous. It’s 4.2 for the season, but he’s at 74 assists and 8 turnovers in his last 14 games (just over 9:1). You’d think he would be a little vulnerable being pressured into turnovers, particularly in the paint when he can’t elevate over people, but he just never gets himself into trouble.

Between this and the last highlight vid posted here he’s looking as quick and agile as I’ve ever seen him
To think Castle and Clingan would only be Juniors if they had stayed in college. Talk about sick. Lol
