UConn in the NBA - March version

83 for Bam lolol
I like Bam Adebayo and he's a nice player but there's something very wrong with the NBA if he scores 83 points in a game. Over half the league is tanking but did the Wizards play 7th graders tonight?

On 20/43 from the field, 7/22 from 3, and 36/43 from the line. Sometimes the NBA is just dumb.
Terrible look for the NBA. They need to do something because the league is comical right now.

They showed quick highlights during the Siena game and Tim Welsh said, "Does that even count?"

Castle has done a good job of shooting the ball better from three almost every month this year:

October - 33%
November - 17%
December - 29%
January - 32%
Febuary - 35%
March - 42%

Still not good but improvement.

If he can keep the Jan Feb numbers and shooter 33-34% he'll be alright. That's enough to keep em honest

Steph with 15, 9 boards and 6 assists - he also caused the reaction by Jaylen Brown to get tossed lol

Objectively it didn't look that bad, it looked like Brown got the tiniest little nudge and tried to sell it by flopping out of bounds and then got mad at the no call. It certainly COULD have been called but it wasn't that egregious.

Now 18 points after banging his 3rd 3, 3/8 tonight.

I am watching the Siena game and saw during halftime that Bam Adebayo was at 79 pts and thought the same thing. Bam is a very good player with a lot of skill, but he has no where near the skill of Kobe Bryant who had 2nd place with 81 pts in a game. I was thinking, "WTH happened in that Wizards game?".

Considering our coach talks about his hometown all the damn time (including on the mic immediately after his first natty and in the first sentence of his book), is this really an issue?

I can't even watch the games because the local news has been on NBC the entire time for tornadoes in the burbs.
Paraphrasing a former mayor - never let a good tornado go to waste.

I don’t like the boring NBA and I grew up loving it from the 60’s through the Larry Bird era. Big O, Jerry West, Wilt, Kareem, Dr. J. Willis and more. What happened? College basketball I guess.

30/11/10 ain’t too shabby

Honestly should have had more, he had a few drives where he was fouled with no call. He doesn't sell fouls well enough, I guess.

Coming from the guy who thinks there might be a backstory (of what, some kind of bad blood?) to why someone says they are from their hometown.
More a backstory as to why you'd intro yourself as from something other than UConn when 90% of players would say their college. One already offered - idolized guys like Lebron who don't have a college to state - another that he was only here for a year.

But, yeah, often times there IS a backstory. Especially in the NFL when they do the video intros. Very few say anything but their college and when they don't, there is typically a reason why that isn't one of the two above. Especially since there are no NFL players that didn't go to college, for the most part.

And fouling the other team intentionally so he can keep trying to score is pretty lame.

There’s not always a back story, sometimes guys like to be unique and rep their tiny hometown. Some guys say their elementary school. It’s not that deep.

If I went to some big university and I had a small town that doesn’t get much national pub, I might rep them in the intro. It’s just not that unique or necessarily an issue.

T.O. Was one of the initial guys saying different than his college, he once said “Terrell Owens, another planet.”

Great game by Clingan tonight 21 points, 15 rebounds, 6 blocks, 3 steals, 2 assists. He has been a monster since the PGs have started to come back.

Cam had a good game also with 19/2/5
Its almost like without point guards he couldn't focus on his game in the paint because no one could get him the ball.

NBA Prime does their version of TNTs where did he play but college version. And John Wall is actually very good at this game.

The Game Theory podcast did an episode on under the radar players. Not only did they lead off with Clingan, but Sam Vecenie said the entire inspiration for the episode was an excuse to talk about him. I haven’t quite finished the entire episode, but the Clingan part starts at 16:25. They are so high on him.
