Wemby would probably go and smack the front office if they tried to trade Fox for Sharpe
The Blazers front office probably isn’t doing it either for that matter. Not straight up at least.

It’s why I said Wagner because it’s probably the only destination with a wing that will take on a small guard for help. None of those other places would value Fox.

Unless they can find a way to do a 3 team trade with Minny who would probably love to have Fox.

What kind of playoff experience does Fox have to show that he’s ready for the big moments?

Sharpe would be at the absolute bottom of all the names I threw out there. But it’s a consideration. I just think the purpose of having Steph is for your team to have a competitive advantage with a jumbo guard on the floor.

Fox kind of takes that away and there’s just so many better options for guards to put next to Steph who are better scorers and would help him be the competitive advantage he’s suppose to be. Only reason to think otherwise is if you don’t really trust or believe Steph can handle PG by himself.
He’s actually been in the playoffs, for one.

He is also just known as a clutch player. He won the first Clutch Player of the Year award, lol. And again, you’re acting like Fox is some tiny, weak guy. He’s 6’3/6’4 and strong. He has been a good defender his whole career.

I think this all a play by you because you want Steph to be the only PG for the Spurs. We all love the kid and think insanely high of him as a player, but he is not ready for that, as we have seen the last month. Fox as a partner is literally perfect for his development. The team is playing great, get a wing shooter, don’t trade one of your most important players. This is silly.

Hope and narratives.

He’s talked about Steph as a PG and now that’s all he wants. The team can be thrilled with his future and present and all that without sacrificing every other guard just so Steph can learn on the job.

It’s just not realistic at this stage. Fox is a really great Guard and they just traded for him, I have no idea why they’d want to get rid of him so quickly and why Shaedon Sharpe would the move.

I get the feeling Portland sees Sharpe, Deni and Clingan as three players they control for years that they can build around. Sharpe is dynamic, can score and will get better. For instance, he could be looking for DC so much more than he does. And he gives it up way too much. But that's all fixable.

Fwiw, the Spurs didn’t actively go out and get Fox. He just fell in their lap unexpectedly.

You guys want Steph to have a babysitter. I’m talking about him having a player who compliments him.

Have some faith in our own players guys sheesh. Everyone else in the league does.

This is the main thing.

Nah man, CP3 was the babysitty last year. Fox is a partner, a great one at that. Sharpe, besides jumping higher, doesn’t do anything better than Fox.

Yes I famously don’t have faith in Castle.

I don’t view every aspect of everything in basketball as “babying” or “babysitting” but I know that’s a major talking point of yours.

They traded for him, that’s not falling into their laps. That’s actively trading for him.

After this you gotta get thrown into the bin of people disagreeing just cause. Lol

Bro, it was known for a while that Fox preferred going back to TX, and he became available. They traded for him, how can you call trading for someone “not going out and getting him”?

You are the most argumentative dude on earth. You said those words. I’m not interested in engaging you for fun cuz it ain’t fun. I wish you made a point I could not call out.

You can say he fell into their laps fortuitously but they still actively went and got him. This is just understanding the English language.

You know what I mean man. They gave up almost nothing to get an All Star guard. They didn’t make a big investment to get him.

They don’t have to be that tied to him because of it. They’re playing with house money.

What if RuffRuff shows up?
In all fairness HW611 and Ruff Ruff know their basketball. I just don't agree with their extreme recent takes on some stuff. Nelsonmuntz is another story all together. LOL! We might as well add Freescooter in this room to fight it out. LOL!

I saw Clingan up close on Monday night at TD Garden in Boston. He had 9 pts, 15 rb, 5 blocks. But his +/- was -19 and his team lost to my Celtics. He was 1-5 from 3 and 0-2 from the line. He had one nice dunk off a lob but other than that he wasn't involved in the offense. He set screens at the top like in Hurley's offense, but wasn't able to roll or slip off those screens to create pressure on the defense. He turned the ball over when he dribbled too much in the post. Overall I would have liked to see more from him (without the Celtics losing of course).

You said "the Spurs didn't actively go out and get Fox" which is just objectively an incorrect statement and I don't know why you're mad at me for pointing it out when it was a part of your earlier argument.

When you make a 3 team trade and he's the center piece of that trade, they absolutely actively went out and got that player.

Of course they don't have to be tied to him, they CAN trade him ... but they actively traded FOR him and they extended him last summer so this all seems a weird thing to be arguing about.

Yeah not sure why he's trying so hard to defend that lol

I know most people on these boards likes to hate on the Hornets for being some type of an abyss where players go to waste their careers, but theyre all finally healthy, and playing together now under this new ownership/gm/coach. I watched them play the Grizzlies last night, and Cam Spencer played a stinker, i was very surprised and was pulling for him to have a great game, in a losing effort, of course. He ended up with 4 points 1-8, 0-6 3pt, 0 rb, 6 ast, 2 tos, 1 stl.

They’ve been demolishing teams lately. They have a bright future

Some statistical standings, as of 1/30:

Field goal% - Clingan #18 (52.5%)
3Pt FG% - Cam Spencer #6 (44.5%)
Free throw % - Cam #4 (92.3%)
Rebounds - Clingan #2 (11.2%)
Assists - Stephon Castle #10 (7.0), Cam #25 (5.7)
Blocks - Clingan #18 (1.3)

And he doesn't block shots anymore.

I appreciate him being the only leg of my parlay to fail when I had him for a meager 8 rebounds and he had 6 early 3rd Q, finished with 6.

Not sure what happened but based on +\- he must have been getting cooked so they took him out. He only played 22 minutes.
